  • Seeing as it is almost the end of the month do you think buyers are hoping they can hold out and pay at the beginning of August?
If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.

I've given up trying to work out what they think they are doing, but this latest one will be closed tonight regardless and re listed during the current FVF offer (it was a used small toy and being sold on my private account)

I always block the time wasters as well.

  • When selling on "buy it now" or "offer" basis on EBay, I require immediate payment.

So do I but immediate payment doesn’t work where an offer is made or accepted and the 2 from this week were both  offers.

    Deary me another champion today...

Got an item listed at £700. Message received asking for more photos of specific parts.

Fair enough but had loads of timewasters on it - so specifically responded 'can you confirm that you know its collection only and that the price is fixed, as I've had lots of timewasters making lowball offers'

Got another reply back asking for specific photos. This morning I make the effort to take them and sending through.

An hour later.... 'it's nice but I'm not paying £700. How about £400?'

Yeah, mate how about do one and get blocked!
  • Whilst I agree this is annoying, it is ultimately the cost of doing business. Sometimes the reasons for cancellation are genuine, but buyers do have a right to request a cancellation.

I am not saying that I agree with the shear amount, but it should be factored into account when listing an item to sell

If I am reading the OP correctly this was not a cancellation and potential buyer was advised that the price was fixed before photos were sent.

Since I often moan about bad experiences here thought I'd provide a good one too - I had an INR last week and refunded in full as it was sent second class large letter and no tracking. Item has turned up today and buyer has paid for it.

On the downside, they've had to pay extra postage (which I have refunded) despite me measuring and weighing that it was within the RM large letter limits which is a bit annoying. First time i've had that with an item despite often being on the boundaries with things I send.
