Santander and registering device error

Anyone else have problems registering a mobile phone with Santander? I just get a message "Opps, problem registering your device" after the OTP is entered. After several goes it blocks my account. They seem to be pushing mobile bank in favour of online banking. I wanted to pay a cheque in but will need to go to a branch instead.

This is just the beginning of your problems. Strongly suggest you close your account and go with a more customer focused bank. If you stay with them, you're going to experience a lot of inconvenience, and anxiety. If you don't believe me, try phoning their customer service and ask them to sort it for you. You will be totally exasperated. with their inept attitude. I wish you lots of luck if you stay with them.

Is this a new mobile phone?
If so did/have you deleted the app from your previous phone?
I know with Lloyds that I had to delete their app off one of my devices as they only let you have a certain number.0 -
Same problem here. I've been using the app for many months and suddenly it decides I need to re-register the phone.
I key in 1/ the account id, 2/ the password and the app displays 3/ a screen asking me to enter the code number they've SMS 'd me. I go to my messages, note the number and return to the app and I'm back to step 2. Rinse/repeat.
The help desk say that this a known Android problem and that I should get round it by somehow sliding the app screen to reveal the SMS message. I can't get this to work at all.
Santander has effectively locked me out of their mobile banking app. This problem seems so basic, it seriously dents your faith in them doing anything right.1 -
