Octopus doesn't want to install Smart Meter

Is there something else I can do apart from waiting?
I opted in for Smart Meter over a year ago and been waiting since, always get the message "Thanks for opting in, we'll let you know when the engineers are around".
I live on the edge of London, so not really extreme locations.

Ditto - are you S/SE/SW London boundaries? I've been trying well over a year and get the same, yet that means no options with them once fixed tariff expires:eek::eek::eek: LBM 11/05/2010 - WE DID IT - DMP of £62000 paid off in 7 years:jDFD April20171

Have you made specific contact with Octopus, or have you only clicked the button on their website to express an interest? From the response you report, I suspect the latter. If you want a more personal reply, email Octopus customer support.N. I tried emailing them but same response:
We currently have no appointments but if you use the link below you can register your interest and book one when they become available.
I'll try to call them, but really expect the same response.
I wonder if there are other providers who I could switch to, get smart meter, and switch back.. but it could too much hassle0 -
Took over a year of waiting to get one from British Gas for me so its not just Octopus.1

I've called them and they said they have availability on 1st of August
Just booked it in..
I don't get that, but thanks for your help!1 -
I only got a gas smart meter installed by emailing Octopus CS - I had also waited a year after registering interest on the website so it seems this registering of interest doesn't work and you have to contact them directly.

The fitters tend to work for several companies but only fit in a certain area. Guy who did ours last year lives a mile from us and said he takes jobs in about a 15 mile radius.
It seems it's more where you live than who you're supplied by.Barnsley, South Yorkshire

I wonder if there are no online slots because they are being booked out over the phone.. I should have called them a year ago
Anyway, all sorted now - hope it helps someone too!
