Bad publicity is not an issue for parking companies, they are well beyond caring about such stuff - they just want your money. It is important to fight this, and to keep it away from court- should it come to court you will at least be able to show that you have tried to be reasonable about it and take all reasonable steps. As for the shop, or didnt shop, i can only assume no purchases were made at the supermarket as a result of the fall .As for contacting Sainsbury's and the its out of our hands response, the manager needs reminding that:Someone suffered a severe injury while on Sainsbury's property resulting in a broken limb ( reportable to the HSE under RIDDOR)and That Sainsbury are jointly and severally liable for the actions of their agents - ie Euro car parks and that being told by a manager of sainsburrys that ""out of my hands" is beyin unacceptableI would be right back round to that sainsburry's and complain again , as well as getting head office involved. The basic facts here appear to be:Slipped and fell while on Sainsburry's property, severely injured resulting in a broken limb and taken away in an ambulanceUnable to complete shopreceived a parking charge notice from Sainsbury's agents - euro car parksManager said nothing he/she can do about it as its "out of my hands"And one more time ( plus in case ive missed it )Where is this Sainsbury's ?p.s, ive noticed that you are posting on behalf of a friend - unless your friend doesn't speak English - or has some other issue it would be a better idea for them to post directly to avoid the game of Chinese whispers

The only link that some PPC's use in relation to shopping is that some of the larger stores have written into the contract that their silly PCN's should be cancelled for bona fide customers that can prove a minimum spend which though never documented we think is around £30.Maybe the PPC has mentioned that they might cancel the pcn on seeing a copy of a store receipt, and this is where the confusion has arisen. However that is totally different from saying that the PCN was given for not shopping in store which is ridiculous how would a ppc know that anyway!Even the infamous UKPC leaving site scam couldn't work if the occupants left in an ambulance1

ECP don't sue anyone anyway. Ever.
So they could ignore it but due to the accident and hospital issue I would complain to the CEO of Sainsburys to cancel it and stop all the £170 threatograms. Those daft demands bother some people!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
