Will I be put back into contract if I downgrade my landline

Hello

I'm currently with BT and  not under contract. I have the broadband and call package with them. As well as paying extra for their unlimited minutes to uk landlines and UK mobiles add on. I can remove this unlimited add on when I log into my BT account. Does anyone know if I will be put back into contract if I removed this add on?

Thank you.

"We generally let you swap between calling plans. For example, you can move between the Unlimited Weekend Calls to the Unlimited Evening and Weekend Calls plan.

If you're on our Unlimited Weekend Calls, Unlimited Evening & Weekend Calls and Unlimited Anytime Calls plans and want to move to one of our new Calling Plans such as Unlimited, you’ll need to regrade your package with us."

However it probably depends on how many calls you actually make, what their monetary value is and whether its cheaper to have the add-on.

That's sneaky looking, just removing an add-on (or even changing to a different one) should not re-contract you but I'd check with them first.

The OP is on a ‘new’ calls plan ‘unlimited minutes’ , it’s not an add on its a calls plan , they can change this without affecting the ‘contract’ length, so if already outside a minimum term , that remains the case  , they can switch to 700 mins or PAYG calls , AFAIK this can be done by themselves by logging onto their ‘My BT’ and changing it …if they decided they didn’t want telephony at all ( so no phone number, no incoming or outgoing calls , including 999 etc ) that would require a new ‘deal’ .
legacy call plans , weekends , evenings and weekends and unlimited only exists because forced migration onto the new plans was talked about but never implemented, you cannot move from one defunct call plan to another defunct plan , but the OP isn’t on one of them
