I’ve complained before, but it’s never changed anything. I phoned up to complain that the delivery driver said he’d handed me the parcel in person when he done a dump and run. It never made any difference.
They sympathise, but then don’t seem to do anything tangible to address the issue.
Like paying their delivery drivers enough for them to be expected to do the job properly?

The only thing that will make Amazon change anything is if people stop using them but they know most people won't and I'm sure they've done the sums on the costs/benefits of improving their delivery service which would either eat into profits or have to be passed on to customers.
And why are you assuming that paying them more will change anything? This is about accountability, not money. Let people get away with doing a bad job and they see no reason not to.

Indeed it's about accountability. And Amazon should be accountable for the pay and conditions of the people that work for them as should the customers that use them and then complain about the poor underpaid bloke trying his best to deliver the boxes.

Believe me a video doorbell doesn’t help, ours dump and run as well in full view of the camera. We do get the doorbell rung though, but they don’t hang about to see if anyone answers.

Update: I often find that leaving loads of comments under Facebook posts on company pages helps when there is a complaint. For some reason complaining on the company website (if you can even find out *how* to complain) is completely ignored, but complaints on Facebook/Twitter are somehow seen as more important and even get human responses. You can't actually write a post or send a message on their Facebook page, but commenting under posts already written does bring replies.

seems to me if it doesn't stop happening (and you can't get through to them any other way) you just keep ordering from amazon and if they drop it on your doorstep and don't ring the bell in future you just keep it, say you didn't get it and either get a refund or get another one delivered, and this could go on until they actually ring the bell and deliver to you....
If more people did this, maybe amazon would change their policy. they couldn't fight the case if their tracking shows "handed to resident" yet the picture shows the item sat on a doorstep

I had 2 parcels where it was stated that they were handed to me. Never happened as I checked my CCTV and confirmed they were left on the doorstep. Unfortunately no one was at home and by the time I returned home they had both been taken.

CCTV showed that they had been taken by someone. Too dark to get any detail and all the police would do was give me a crime number.

Contacted Amazon and stated both Parcels had been stolen. They did not believe me but when I offered the CCTV of parcels just being dumped on door step they offered a replacement or refund.

I added notes to say do not leave parcels on door and only deliver if someone at home to take parcel. I schedule delivery's for days when someone is at home but then they bring delivers forward.

Now they just attempt to redeliver. I suppose it comes down to how much you need it and are happy for it to be dumped on the door step.
