Question for Virgin Media Broadband customers

Hello,
I recently realised that I was paying way over the odds for a basic virgin broadband / tv / phone contract. I am out of contract and paying £82 per month, where the new customer offer for the same package is £31.99 for 18 months and from month 19 it goes up to £65 (which I assume is the current out-of-contract price).
The person at virgin retentions offered me his "best price" of £67 for 18 months - higher than the out of contract cost above - also when I said I would need to look into it he gave me the "this is a special offer so can't even be guaranteed if you call back later today" high pressure script.
I've put in a complaint, hoping they will come back with a reasonable price - I particularly thought the high pressure stuff was a bit rubbish.
I know that they generally won't offer the new customer price to existing customers. I wonder if anyone who has been on the basic package (M250, 100+ TV Channels, Weekend Chatter), and renewed the contract as an existing customer when it ended, would be willing to share what monthly cost they are paying? That would help me in my communications with Virgin.
Thanks a lot!

I was paying £25 a month for broadband. When the contract expired I called them up and said please cancel my contract it is too expensive, they offered my several new prices all of which were to much so I said no, Please cancel my contract. Three days later they called my and offered £20 a month for broadband. That's cheaper than a new customer. I accepted their offer. It's worth holding out for a better deal0
