    Why a joint account ?.
We keep saving separate for several reasons as well a bank accounts.
One reason is the boss had bad credit until we got together and I helped her turn it around.
Linked accounts will hurt both credit scores if something goes wrong.
Two, tax reasons, I’m on a low income and can get 14k in interest tax free.
    She can only get 1k.
    Worth thinking about.
Your circumstances maybe irrelevant to OP.

We have joint accounts for everything now. Mostly because it is easier to manage our monthly household budget that way but also it’s easier to save up for shared goals like home improvements and holidays.

we have been together over 20 years but have only done it this way for the last 4 years and works a lot better than our previous ways.

Had a joint account for over 20 years that we both pay into and it pays for everything house ,holidays, insurances, cars etc. Then personal accounts for anything we may want personally. Also your not left with the account being frozen when a party passes. Works for us and the joint savings is protected by FCCS at £85k each. Just want a better joint savings account interest as FD percentage is terrible.

We have our main cash savings in a joint accointvwith Shawbrook. Currently the top or near the to interest rate for an EA account. Although withdrawals are not instant in the way a FP transfer is, the end of the next working day is perfectly OK for our needs.

We have mostly joints account because I'm more comfortable doing the actual operation of our accounts. In a couple of years we may have to change to suit our different tax positions.

For easy access we have joint Shawbrook 3.91%, as has been said, they are a touch 'slow' processing withdrawals but not so slow it bothers me. Also joint Gatehouse Bank 4.15% & Aldermore 3.7%.
Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.

You need to ask them to update the "Issue" via a secure message, then it'll be 4.35%

The other 'negative' for Shawbrook! Thanks Qyburn.
I had to insist our a/c was updated to Issue 35 a while back, the operative insisted it didn't need to be done as our interest rates would increase regardless of the 'new' issues, but I insisted more forcefully that it be updated........now along comes issue 36 & my interest hasn't done as she insisted it DOES do, automatically increase! I'll update now.

It seems random. Since we opened the account I think two interest changes needed to be done this way. But increases in Oct, Nov, Feb, Mar, April, May and twice in June were all applied without any action needed by me.

I think you're right. I was on Issue 32, but being auto interest 'uplifted' & did match Issue 35 (though totally unaware there had probably been 33 & 34 out). When I found out via MSE a couple of months ago I was a few 'Issues' behind I asked Shawbrook to update me to 35.

The operative said no, it wouldn't be necessary as I was on the same rate as 35 anyway, & I had to insist as for all I knew I wouldn't necessarily keep pace with subsequent Issues.

There's no consistency it seems. Now 36 is out, & I'm not auto interest uplifted now. Probably best if I just check regularly. I've sent a secure message to be switched
