Hi all
over three weeks ago i tried to transfer my number to three from Vodafone they said it would
be done in about 4 days. but as soon as i ended the call my mobile internet and outgoing calls
stopped working i called bk from my other number and told it would be sorted out, 3 weeks later
and calls every other day to CS and still no further forward, they tried to redo the transfer - no good
tried a new sim - no good and they keep telling me the number has been transferred because their
system says it has all as i phone them from the number they say is transferred while still on Vodaphone sim
and rung vodo and they say they never received a request for transfer on the number.
At present three say my number is on their three system but i cant call out from my three sim or
use mobile data and when i ring my old three number the three sim receives the call,
Threes customer services are a joke ive spent hours and hours retelling the same story to people that
just pass me over to someone else who doesn't have a clue.
Does anyone know a number that gets me to someone that can actually help
as been without service can i cancel Direct debit and can i get compensation?

This is very odd, because of the way number porting works its impossible for the port to start as soon as the call ends.

I think something else has happened here

Did you get a PAC from Vodafone?
How did you give the PAC to three?
Please can you copy the text messages you got about porting your number so we can see what stage it was at?

It's quite difficult to follow. Who were you on the phone to and which sim were you using?
As PHK says, this cannot be a porting process. To port your number you generate an authorisation code from your old network and give it to your new network. Your new network then presents it to your old network and requests the number is routed to them. This will be the next business day at the earliest.
To clarify, after ending a call to 'them' your 3 sim stopped making calls or mobile data? What about texts?  My guess is that the sim has been restricted and 'they' are not allowing chargeable activity.
3 have sent you another sim, does that make calls?
Is your vodafone sim still working?
If yes to both text pac to 65075 from your vodafone sim and you will be texted back a nine digit code, VOD then 6 numbers.
    Then go to 3's website and choose whether you are pay monthly or payg then input your details;

    https://www.three.co.uk/support/switching/keeping-your-number

Your port should then take a day or so.

You could make a complaint about the service and ask management to listen back to the call and investigate why your sim stopped working, but I doubt it would uncover negligence. I don't think anyone on here has any idea what was said during that call.

If your vodafone sim still works I would request another pac. The porting process means you lose signal on your old network first, then there is a brief period where service is routed to your new network, your new sim will briefly lose signal then start sending and receiving on your old number. But this would happen at least a day after giving the pac.
Just out of interest do you have a 3 online account? What do they think your telephone number is?
