5G SIM and router or traditional broadband package

Options
The house we're moving into has 5G coverage which is great news. With this in mind and the speeds it brings would we better off going unlimited data/sim only and buying a 5G router as opposed to taking an internet package our with the usual Virgin Media / Talktalk / Sky etc like everyone else.

Any thoughts?

Latency is usually fairly poor with mobile internet, and speeds tend not to be fantastic without an external aerial.

I personally wouldn't go with mobile internet by choice.  It's not terrible, it just tends to be less preferable to fixed line services.

I'm looking at this as well for when my Plusnet contract ends.

I've got a LTE 4G modem (Not 5G) and tried my 1pMobile SIM (on EE) in it.
It worked fine and I got speeds of 120/40 as opposed to 33/4 on my FTTC broadband.
Only obvious problem is it has GCNAT in the way, so no incoming connections are possible.

    There's some interesting SIMs on Amazon - e.g. £240 for 18-month unlimited data-only.
Well, when it says 'unlimited', it also says there's a 600Gb/month 'fair use' condition.

Something like zerotier might help with that, depending on exactly what you want to achieve.
