Massively over-bought postage stamps

Sometimes my local Post Office would buy stamps back off of me, at a lower value of course. Bear in mind that was years ago. Not sure if they are still able to do it?

I suspect it was less ‘the post office bought them back’ and more ‘the guy behind the counter in the local PO in the shop’ bought them to make money reselling them in place of officially bought ones.

That  also might explain why there are currently people on the stamp swap threads on here complaining that stamps bought at a PO have been deemed to be fakes, they may unknowingly have been so.

I used them about 8 weeks ago to offload some unwanted booklets.  Fast e-mail response to my first enquiry.  Sent him a package (using some more unwanted stuff) and got BACS payment in 48 hours.
