Yes I definitely need help with rent, thanksSpoonie_Turtle said:
Yes but will you be needing to claim help for rent? If not, you shouldn't need to claim UC anyway.RealGem said:
Yes different local authority, thankspoppy12345 said:Moving house isn't a change of circumstances that will prompt a move to UC. What will prompt a move is either needing to claim for help with your rent for the first time (unless you're living in either supported or temporary housing) or you're moving to a different local Authority.Look at it this way... That amount suggests you’re in the Support Group. Your UC will include the LCWRA element from the start of your claim.RealGem said:
How do I find out which group I am in?calcotti said:
You haven’t answered the question about which group you are in, WRAG or Support Group?RealGem said:
I think it's Income Related ESA. I am single yes.HillStreetBlues said:What group of ESA are you in and is it a single claim?
None of the letters say it. Only the amount.
I get £149.05 a week.
Thanks
As your ESA doesn’t include the SDP this means that UC with LCWRA pays more than ESA Support Group. There’s no disability premiums payable with UC.If any part of your ESA is contributions based this will continue. Any Income Related will stop after 2 weeks.1 -
@RealGem
What will happen is you will be moved into LCWRA without the need for a further assessment.
Sometimes it takes a while for the UC to match up with the ESA.
So when applying for UC make sure you made a note in your journal, that you were in the Support Group and will be transferred to LCWRA so you will have no work commitments.
You will have to sign a agreement, but that should just be to check your journal from time to time.

Do you know how seemless this will be if make a new claim at the new address?
Or will I have to be reassessed?
And do you know if there is a gap without any money? (I will struggle if that's the case!)
Thank youLook at it this way... In a hundred years who's gonna care?0 -

You will get 2 week run on with your ESA and also HB if you are claiming it.RealGem said:And do you know if there is a gap without any money? (I will struggle if that's the case!)
UC takes a month and 7 days for first payment (bit shorter if weekend involved) but you can ask for an advance.

If the UC claim is being made at a new address the 2 week run on for HB will not apply as the HB will stop when the old address is vacated.HillStreetBlues said:

AFAIK it doesn't matter if you have a new address.

It says the run on will on apply if the HB was ended because of claiming UC and for no other reason. I read this to mean that if there is has been a change of address which would end the HB anyway then the run on would not happen. That isn’t consistent with the paragraph you quoted but the one you quoted is more specific is hopefully correct.HillStreetBlues said:calcotti said:If the UC claim is being made at a new address the 2 week run on for HB will not apply as the HB will stop when the old address is vacated.
