With the launch of Threads, I'd like to hear about the free social networking sites you used to use back in the day.
- Did you have a Myspace/Bebo/Friendster account, or something more niche?
- Did it assist you in your MoneySaving in any way?
- Would you bring any of them back?

'Back in the day' there were no social media sites. People went to pubs and social events to meet people.

Money saving back in the day was getting to the pub in time for happy hour.

Compuserve - I'm still a bit nostalgic for it. Vast number of discussion groups. all with moderation. Abuse of others stamped on rapidly with posts deleted and repeat offenders blocked for varying periods depending on the level of abuse.
Today's social media is a wild place with masses of inconsequential drivel and piling in on people.2 -
i used IRC and ICQ1

Postcards of where I was and got local stuff down t’pub. Now my favourite barmaid brings a postcard when she gets back(it’s quicker) and still get social stuff from t’pub. What does any one care what they have had for breakfast/dinner/tea or with who? 🍻🍷☕️4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex .
