New Fix out from EON - Is it worth it?

The E.ON Next exit fee is £75 per fuel. Assuming you have gas and electricity, double the exit fee is £25 per month.Chrysalis said:Not worth it in my view, the standing charge would potentially be a lightly noticeable thing for light users, but the exit fee makes that so much not worth it.The annual saving for me would need to be at least double any exit fee.
That is quite a high threshold in my opinion, particularly when there is no exit fee to return to their SVR.1 -
So if you can switch back to the svr at no cost then what is the risk?0

Hi,
the £43.57p standing charge for electricity is extortionate.bristolleedsfan said:
Cheaper than SVR with no exit fee to change tariffs within Eon Next, why wait ??????frugalmacdugal said:Hi,
think you should wait, prices might come down a bit.JessS2804 said:Now the EON app isnt great (it wont load again now I've been into it), but managed to get some screen shots of the new fixed tariff they are offering:
Current Next Flex:
Electric
Standing Charge - £49.60p
Unit Rate - £30.29p
Gas
Standing Charge - £29.11p
Unit Rate - £7.61p
Next Loyalty Fixed v4
Electric
Standing Charge - £43.57p
Unit Rate - £29.98p
Gas
Standing Charge - £23.08p
Unit Rate - £7.48p
Fixed for 12 months
£75 per fuel exit feed
Smart Meter (already got)
Now, is it worth it at this point? Or is it worth waiting till the next price cap?
Thanks
Jess

I'm a single individual in a fairly large house so my use is quite minimal anyway (ML has talked about standing charges for single occupants being the same as those with a full household and trying to change that I believe), so there isn't much I can really do to reduce my usage than what I've already done, its the huge standing charge that kills me. Last time I was on my own I remember it being significantly less, but decided to be a grown up and buy at the wrong time (facepalm)Chrysalis said:Not worth it in my view, the standing charge would potentially be a lightly noticeable thing for light users, but the exit fee makes that so much not worth it.The annual saving for me would need to be at least double any exit fee.0 -
This is the fix EON are offering me.ElectricityGas
Daily standing charge 44.28p 23.08p Unit rate 29.17p per kWh 7.25p per kWh 0 -
Forecasts do not show any chance of lower prices to come anyway (in the next year).0
