Hi all,
Please be lenient if I've made any typical newbie errors (trying to work my way around the forums and find ad much info as possible and may have missed some pointers)
I've received this letter (with my name spelt incorrectly) yesterday from DCBL on behalf of UK Parking Control Ltd relating to a parking charge from 2022 apparently.
This is the first I've heard of it, so I gave DCBL a call yesterday and they've told me it's from 2022, given me a registration for my old car and told me that any previous letters etc have been sent to my old address.
I told the lady at DCBL that I've not lived there for over 2yrs now and so haven't received any of the correspondence and when I moved address, I've informed the DVLA of this.
She's told me there's no way she can have any pending action put on hold and "You'll just have to pay it".
Does anyone have any advice on possibly fighting this as it's genuinely the first I've heard about it and I obviously don't want a CCJ hanging over my head.
Thank you in advance.

You definitely need forum help with this, but not via jumping in and posting on another person's thread which is still current and at a sensitive stage. Rolling out your case here will totally send the originator's case off track.Own new thread please. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Hello Guys,
DCB Legal have now withdrawn the case against me.
On May 15, I received the court hearing date set for 13th September. The claimant had until 30th August to pay the court hearing fee.
On May 17, DCB emailed me with an offer to settle for £150 against the outstanding balance of £265.
Yesterday, 14th June, I received the email that DCBL is discontinuing the case.
Thanks for all your support and reassurance. Result!4 -
