If you have a phone line fault and you can show its a line fault (ie it does the same thing on another telephone) then you need to report it to Sky.
If it was working previously and has now stopped and you cannot  make/receive calls then that's a fault.
Nobody else can help with this, you need to tell Sky.
    Your number is probably fine.

Not sure what mentioned you transferred over six years ago has to do with anything if I'm honest...

Have you recently upgraded your broadband or renewed your contract on a new deal? If so, check you bill/paperwork and make sure you still have a landline service and you didn't accidentally move on to a newer fibre connection that does not include a landline or phone number. Traditional copper-wire landlines are being phased out and very soon (September) no one will be able to get a new one and existing ones will slowly be phased out - but existing users will not lose their service and it will be transferred to a VoIP service with the same number - so in most cases if you have reasonably modern equipment you essentially plug your phone into your new router rather than the phone socket. It's all explained here: Future of Voice – Homepage

If your account details show you are paying for a landline, contact Sky to report a fault as a service you are paying for isn't working.

Am bit annoyed about this and in conversations with friends, neither had they...some of Senior people don't have laptops or broadband connections/routers...so how are they going to be informed?
