Just tried to purchase a O2 sim deal (30gh data unlimited minutes and text for £8.00 a month) though MSE but I failed the credit check. When I queried this with O2 they said that "because the price was a lot cheaper on MSE website than on O2 website that's why it was rejected and nothing to do with the credit check. So basically what he was saying was that the O2 deal on MSE website doesn't exist. Has anyone else had a problem like this? The morel of this story is "If it's sounds too good to be true it probably is"

Have a look at your credit reference reports over the next couple of weeks (all three of them) to see if the 'hard search' appears. If it does, then the application was processed, and you were rejected for some other underlying reason rather than their deal was too cheap and they didn't want you to have it.How's your credit history generally? Positive? On the electoral roll? Any defaults or late payments? Have other active credit accounts in your name?0
