How to get rid of Sub Titles

I had this problem a few weeks and found the answer on Google but it has happened again I am sure I did the following last time which was go to digital set up then to Sub Title set up then turn it off but I am not getting a option to to turn the Sub Titles of any advice appreciated.The TV is a Sony iKDL-42W653A.Thanks

Subtitles as in... what?Sky? Virgin? Freeview? Some other box?0

I'd also add, live TV? An App like BBC iPlayer or Netflix?0
