Hi everyone,
I'm feeling a bit more human today, hopefully I'll be able to stay awake for more than a couple of hours.
Just as well because I have a hair appointment I don't want to miss. My hair is so short and fine it only takes half an hour or a cut and blow dry, I feel a bit cheated at times, paying the same as someone whose hair takes twice as long,
Steve has got a golf competition this afternoon which will be followed up bu a barbecue on Sunday, it's for members of the club who live in our road, there are about half a dozen, there used to be more apparently. We've been asked to take a pasta salad (supposedly tuna and something but that seems very 80's so Steve found a more modern recipe).
I'm waffling so I'd better go, have a good day.12 -
Morning all, thanks Gers, interesting readingof your DM diaries but harrowing too I bet..Poppy good to hear you're feeling a bit better today.Taff- see you've started a new thread
, I'll have a look later. Off for the bus to go for my swimming in half an hour
Mucky-moo, before my DGS started school and I was looking after him we used to go up the road to our local park. I got talking to some people who home schooled, they'd get together and seemed happy with their choice, & there was a local group for support too. Good luckCamelot enjoy the park, I love our local one, looks like rain here
Jackie, hope Daisy makes an appearance soonThanks TA you've just reminded me I haven't placed my O order yetScarlet hope the aches and pains ease off.I've taken some mince out for tea, anybody's guess what I do with it ;)but I'll cook it before we pick DGS up otherwise it gets a bit late.Hugs to the poorlies, & take care x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning everyone
We had some heavy rain last night but not the forecast thunder and lightning. A few parents were grumbling because Sports Day was cancelled then it was fine - but they would have grumbled about something anyways!
I'm working today as someone is off sick...not until lunchtime. I've asked to carry on just doing afternoons again next term as I still really struggle in the mornings.
Little one came for tea after nursery - we had a lovely play. She wanted pasta with tomato sauce so I made a pasta bake with mozzarella on the top - she loves mozzarella. She was very impressed by my blue garden seats...'they look so beautiful!' We chatted about her going to visit big school later in the week, she wondered if the big boys and girls would know she was special - and told me if they ask what's on her arm she would say 'it's my blood sugar monitor.' She started explaining what she would say about her tube in her tummy - I pointed out that her tummy should stay covered up!
I've waffled so I better go - I'll pop down to mam and dads for a cuppa this morning before work.
Hope everyone has a good day x13 -

Afternoon. Friend has been round this morning, I got up late so wasn't on the ball for posting. Had a nice chat and managed to foist a couple of cat toys on her and a top from the charity bag. The window people rang, they're coming a week Monday which at least gives me some time to move some money around so I can actually pay them. Ths also means that sorting out the back bedroom has become imperative otherwise they'll be fighting boxes and plastic crates all the way. I'm going up there in a bit so hopefully I can cull a lot more stuff. Had a bit fo agarden tody, did the compost and collected all the water from the overhang, all the butts are now full again and so is the one by the greenhouse. Fatty brought in a little sparrow last night, squeaking relentlessly so I managed to get it off him and put it in a box in the box room so it could be quiet but it was obviously too much for it and it died overnight. Last year I dispatched 5 baby pigeons that wouldn't have lived and felt really bad about it, but I couldn't bring myself to dispatch the sparrow. I wanted it to live even though I knew it probably wouldn't. Feeling a bit sad about that. I made the sauce yesterday so today is also making up some lasagne, ok, a lot of lasagne for the freezer and for Friday.Mehefin, Happy Anniversay! snoozer, glad you're recovering
bella, ooo, a cruise, how lovely! Gers, it's always a sobering thought to realise that in our parents lifetime they had a lot more poverty and scarcity to deal with than we have. I remember being very hard up as a student living in Cardiff and eating a lot of pasta with tinned tomato sauce because it was the cheapest thing I could find. But I always had food...Izzy, you should charge them more for not making sure the pockets were empty! Scarlet, Happy Birthday to your DH, have a lovely day! Ruby, yes, you put your foot down..A friend who is a carer had something similar but in the end although she'd tried it on with everyone else, my friend was coping well, she's very I'll take none of your nonsense, she wasn't being violent towards her, but eventually she turned on her, you have to keep in your mind that they're fine now but they may not be [ bit more extreme than your client but...]
Right, off to explore the room of doom and let the flinging commence! Take care all...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi9 -

Late posting from me as I’m in the office. Spent the first 1.5 hours with IT sorting issue with printing and boss’s laptop which decided to throw a hissy fit.
As a result I didn’t eat my breakfast, so now feeling hungry after only having some cous cous and melon for lunch. DH is cooking creamy mushroom papadelle tonight SW-styley, so I’m looking forward to that.
Glad you’re feeling brighter @snoozer x
Happy anniversary @mehefin x
Have a good evening all

@Gers - Have you considered asking the Imperial War Museum or Eden Camp in Pickering if they would like a photocopy of the diary? Or possibly willing it to the Imperial War Museum if no one in your family will look after it?6
