Good morning. It's already bright with a tinge of pink in the sky.

My fridge is almost empty apart from condiments. I'm eking out the fresh food until the last moment as I've plenty of stores, it's an interesting task. I've been re-reading my late DM's war time diaries, it is always a shock. She and her fellow evacuees were gathering nettles, endlessly eating turnips and saving up sandwiches for a birthday feast only to find them mouldy. Food was so scarce that it preoccupied her life. She also recorded being given an old leather belt which was used to repair her only pair of shoes and being gifted an unused army great coat which promptly became a blanket. It's all still sobering.Today I have my pool exercise class and then another neck and shoulder massage, I'm looking forward to both. Energised and then relaxed in the same place. 😀
I hope that everyone is doing fine. Happy Wednesday to all.11 -
Morning everyone Gers we don’t know or at least can’t imagine how hard it was we have all experienced hard times myself included but not to that extent we have a lot to be thankful for enjoy your exercise and your massage. It’s a nice bright morning here of to work in a minute I’ve got a line of washing out we are forecast showers but not until later I’m hoping it’s dry for when I get back at lunchtime. Dogs have been walked I stayed the same at WW last night I ate exactly the same as last week can’t work it out but at least it’s not a gain. I’ve got blue hands a pen burst in my hands yesterday at work I was fishing it out of a lining on a jacket before it went in the machine but at least it didn’t go on the jacket. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning folks and thanks GERS. The sun is shining! No rain yesterday but the neverending wind made it feel quite chilly. A similar day forecast for today but looking at the trees the wind seems to have dropped.
I have quite a big Ocado order due for delivery shortly, with a few nice treats to take to the van at the w/e. (If I don't eat them before then!) No rush to get it put away as no bus trip day today - friend is away on another jaunt! She reckons this will be their last holiday abroad as her DH is finding the travelling and airports too stressful now and wasn't happy about going on this trip either.
No fixed plans for today but, as usual, there are plenty of jobs I should be doing. If the wind doesn't come back again much weeding is needed at the front.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies or getting better. FLOSS I hope you are coping ok with the treatment and SNOOZER I hope you are feeling better. Kids can be so generous when it comes to sharing their germs! GERS that is sombre reading. Take care all be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. Morning All
Bright this morning, the sun was out earlier but it seems to have gone back to bed, which is where I should be - woke up at 4.30 and couldn't get back to sleep. I've been painting to pass the time until I go and collect the little one.
My friend's son had a fabulous time at the Royal garden party, will hear all about it in full later, the pictures look great. I had to give him a hand before he went to put something on his uniform - safety pins are a brilliant invention!
Got the grass cut last night and gave the hanging baskets a good soaking as although it has rained a fair bit they are slightly under the roof so get a bit dry.
It was certainly a tough life for your DMum Gers, hope we never have to suffer in the same way.
Hope you're feeling ok today Floss.
Any baby news Jackie?
Sounds sensible to get more cameras Ruby but such a shame you have to do that.
Thinking of you Nanny.
Bookbug at the library with the little one this morning and probably the park this afternoon as it's to be quite a decent day, will save swimming for a rainy day.
Have a good day, take care. XX11 -
just thought I would pop in to say hello as feeling marginally better today. New pain relief is helping but I wouldn’t risk driving. Cleaner comes today so I will attempt a quick tidy up.
I do read every day and best wishes to you all13 -
Good morning, thanks for starting Gers. Your Mum's diaries are indeed sobering. We have so much now, it's hard to imagine it.
It's Dh's birthday today, we might go out for the day. ( if I can get myself going, the aches and pains are giving me gyp this morning)
It's a nice morning, sunny and going to warm up I think.
Hope you can get the blue off your hands Izzy.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.12 -
Good morning everyone,
Going to try and reply early before everything gets busy here. I work in a school (support staff not teacher) and its a strike day so im waiting to hear what the schedule is and get resources ready.
I hope everyone is ok and sending hugs to those that need them.
Floss, my SIL is going through cancer treatment atm. She finished her first set of therapies about 8 weeks ago. She was fine during the week because they gave her steroids but the weekend was when it really hit her. She has her scans next week to see if its reduced the tumours. sending you lots of love and hugs
RosyRed, I'm not sure if they want to. She's a popular girl and a lot of parents have asked where she's going because they were hoping they were going to the same school as her but as soon as i said home education they went quiet. even when I mentioned the possibility of meeting up. there area lots of things in our area though, groups, activities and we have friends and her cousins near us so she wont be lonely or not able to socialise. I think as long as i get her out and about she'll be ok.

Good Morning all, no baby news just yet, my grandson Danny has nicked named her lazy Daisy as she seems quite comfy nesting in her Mums tummy at the moment, but the hospital may give her a nudge at the weekend My eldest DD the baby's grandma was the same, she was quite happy to be lugged around by me in 1967
my granddaughter Holly (the babies soon to be aunt is 30 tomorrow so maybe she might arrive on her Aunties birthday, fingers crossed Every time the phone dings I think she's landed
Dreadful rain last night, but today it seems to be bright and sunny, so we are taking to dogs for a walk, and will go to Freshwater and probably walk along the old railway track which is a nice flat walk with a decent tea room at the other end
Had a good evening last night with our visitors and a riotous game of cards and a glass or two of wine. Old fashioned family fun and TV not turned on at all.
When we are on holiday we try not to bother to watch TV at all for a fortnight and make our own entertainment. Yesterday afternoon had a walk out to the RNLI Bembridge station for a look around and it was very interesting, I popped into the shop on the way back and bought a box of Christmas cards, the donations help the RNLI and I'm quite happy to donate as they save so many lives and its all voluntary people who risk their lives for folk in trouble. Bembridge station has save 46 lives this year alone
Should really be the fourth emergency service as standard
Right time for coffee on the verandah and see some ships sailing by
Hope the sun shines down on you all

Morning all
We had heavy rain all last night so the garden will appreciate it and it saves me watering.
My client was rude to me again yesterday 😡 I simply asked her if she had bought a packed lunch and she shouted at me ‘YES WHATS IT GOT TO DO WITH YOU’ I immediately shut it down and said no you don’t speak to me like that and told her if she did it once more then I would send her home, I told her she comes here because she is my friend and if she stops being my friend then she won’t come again, she did apologise but it really put a dampener on the day, next time she does it she will go home !
Onto today I will go and collect my private client and take him to work he is such a happy soul I have never seen him in a bad mood, we will go in and get some shopping on the way home.
Dinner tonight will be a whole chicken roasted with some mash and salad, I won’t have the mash I’m down 9lb so far with low carbing so it’s coming off slowly.
Gers that’s really sad, how lucky we are and how quickly we forget xxx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Just a quick good morning from sunny and breezy Mehefinland.
43 years married today so suppose I had better treat Mrs M ( on pain of death or something similar). I jest of course.
Otherwise nothing much to report.
Hugs and spoons as always
