Does any one here have any experience or is a member of a credit union? Can anyone share their experiences of them and how they might be of benefit?
I am seriously looking for fresh ways of saving and borrowing when I need to.
Thanks.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. hi, i joined one last year, I joined as I knew if I ever had to borrow money in an emergency I had no where to go, no credit cards and no credit rating. I had planned to save about £500 in there and have it as a back up so if I needed to borrow any money it was always there. But there always seemed other things to spend money on. Was thinking about it the other day and want to make the effort in 2008.
It really is for saving for the longterm as they dont encourage you to take money out but borrow instead. It all depends on your circumstances if it is right for you0
