Virgin Mobile to 02 Issues with changeover

I am experiencing issues with Virgin automatic move to 02
1. My bill was £10.91 until March 2023 when it mysteriously went up to £13.85
2. The 02 switch put it to £13.84 with double data 50gb which would be ok but the phone is rarely used to make calls,  rarely use data and it is never used for text messages

so I thought to do two things Understand why the bill went up by a third this year aby getting the historic bills downloaded and then contact 02 to reduce the tariff which is clearly too much for the needs of the person using the phone.

For the last two weeks I have been unable to get the password reset to access Virgin Mobile. The email link NEVER arrives. I logged onto 02 on the day the sim plan changed from Virgin and....not allowed to change the tariff for a month because it was changed by the Virgin switch

so...no further forward.

But main question if the bills cannot be downloaded for the Virgin account .because the reset email is never received then how to get hold of them? Has Virgin mobile just closed the old account forever???

When you look at your tarriff in My O2 it should show a discount to reduce the price back down to your Virgin price - it should discount at least until April but it is not clear what happens after then.

Why on earth do you even have a contract then, let alone at that price? You're presumably in a 12 month contract now but you'd be better off with a PAYG deal.

I suspect that you're right, the VM account will be inaccessible. Perhaps if you call them they might be able to help but I can't see to what purpose, it's not like they're going to give you a refund.

If you're only 3 months or so into a 12 month contract with O2 I can't see them doing much either.

People often say that sort of thing but they don’t mean it. They are fooling themselves to try to bolster their case.

Browsing through MSE you see suites of furniture that no one sits on, TVs that are never switched on, cars that are never used etc etc
