No, there's no similarities, the reason this is an old mobile is that it's too old to receive updates and I certainly didn't switch it on at 06:46 in the morning, in reality there's no answer to this until or unless someone can say what this number actually connects to, Lebara are no help, Vodafone are no help, if they don't know then something else is happening.

This number is only associated with Vodafone, if it was something to do with the normal apps associated with mobiles there would be people having accounts with other carriers searching for this same number charging them for SMS to it, anyway thanks for your help, I'll have to do some more research or just accept it as it is.

Pete99, this doesn't answer your main concern, but I have just discovered an issue which may affect the accuracy of the times which you believe those texts were sent.  The Lebara app is on GMT+1, showing the correct times of calls and texts.  But for some reason the website is on GMT, showing calls and texts an hour earlier than they were actually sent. I don't see any option to reset the time zone.

I don't think that there's going to be an answer to this as no one knows what or who this number belongs to, I bit the bullet and gave it a ring, it just cuts off every time you ring it, I've sent it a text asking "who are you", no response, so no one knows what it is and you can't ring it, lucky for me it doesn't cost much, others have been charged pounds, anyway thanks for your help.

A bit late to the party but I've just noticed 2 SMS messages to this number on my account. I have a 6 month discounted Lebara sim. Wasn't charged but no history of these texts on my phone. Not too worried about it.
Was only checking my account because I just had an email from Lebara asking why I haven't used my number in the last 30 days. That would be difficult as I delinked that number ages ago!

I only started this because I wondered if anyone knew what this number was for, I also found that other people were also looking up this number for the same reason on         who-calls.me.uk and they were getting charged a whole lot more, I only get charged on this particular phone because it's on PAYG as it's only a spare, my new mobile is on a plan so the couple of SMS appearing on that account aren't charged for, as i said before, neither Lebara nor Vodafone supposedly know what the number relates to, it would just be nice to know, but it seems that no one does.

I too have similar phantom texts sent from a Lebara number:

  • I have same issue. I suspect it is the Google Messages app sending messages for RCS set-up purposes. (I could be wrong).
