Fogstar Home Batteries (Domestic <30kWh ... etc)

Its a shame we had a SolaX inverter and 5.8 kWh triple battery fitted October 2022 £4,500, I would love to ditch my old system a fit a Victron Inverter and Fogstar 15 or 30 kWh battery, however financially it does not make sense and the wife would sting me up. We have already fitted a Fogstar battery to our touring caravan excellent piece of kit.

I sold my two Growatt ML33RTA batteries (total 6.6 kWh) in Oct for £1200 which mostly covered the cost of the Seplos kit and more than doubled my storage. What kind of inverter setup were you thinking of?Oscarmax said:Its a shame we had a SolaX inverter and 5.8 kWh triple battery fitted October 2022 £4,500, I would love to ditch my old system a fit a Victron Inverter and Fogstar 15 or 30 kWh battery, however financially it does not make sense and the wife would sting me up. I was thinking longer term two of the Seplos kids plus an ASHP would be a good setup to run on off peak electricity, but I'd need to replace the inverter or add another one.Solar install June 2022, Bath

Our solar panels have Solis inverter, our SolaX battery are retro fitted with a AC SolaX inverter, the SolaX AC inverter is not compatible with Fogstar battery.
To change I would have probably gone for a Victron inverter to compliment the Fogstar battery.
Financial it does not even make sense to add a SolaX slave triple 5.8 kWh battery at £1500 to our existing 5.8 battery set up, we are Octopus Go only importing 500 kWh peak rate maximum a year.12 x 370 Watt J A panels Solis 3.6 invertor. Solax AC invertor and 5.8 triple battery0 -
Any links for how to set this up and what other kit is needed? We currently have V2H and a 40 and 62 leaf that we swap on the charger when we run out of stored electricity in the one that is connected with the heat pump, but sometimes we also lack inverter output as the max is about 5kw. Adding a battery and inverter system would be ideal, especially if we could do it for the less than the 5k we could raise by selling the 40 leaf. We have an integrated garage, are batteries allowed there now?Solarchaser said:
Yeah I would be very tempted by that.ed110220 said:Their Seplos kits have come down too: £1249.99 for the 15.12 kWh V4 kit.
A couple of hours assembly to save £750 🤔I think....0 -
Just ordered a Fogstar Seplos 15kWh batt to go with my existing Sofar ME3000. It's all @Solarchaser 's fault for sharing the deal on the recent SolarEdge thread!

I paid the deposit on my second 15.5kWh battery (haven't had the first one delivered, yet, because of building work delays. Hopefully they'll already have the updated firmware installed, so one less thing to do.1

Don't suppose there is a blog or community with discussion on how to set up home battery solutions?QrizB said:Just ordered a Fogstar Seplos 15kWh batt to go with my existing Sofar ME3000. It's all @Solarchaser 's fault for sharing the deal on the recent SolarEdge thread!I think....1 -
Off Grid Garage, on Youtube, is quite instructive. He's built and tested all manner of battery kits and various components, over a number of years.michaels said:

There's plenty of YouTube videos of people building them these days, enough that you can pick and choose who's style you like etc.
Off grid garage is decent, but after a couple of videos the guy starts to annoy me tbh.
