Snoozer - made me laugh too....funnily enough little one has a thing about my nipples too...opposite to you though - she says they're too big! It always leads to a long discussion about how everybodys' bits are a bit different...She always ends by saying 'well I'm the only person you know with a tube in their tummy aren't I?' in a very matter of fact way.
She does like to spot a hair growing out of my chin....she'll lean forward, stick her tongue and 'I've got it granny, look!'
Had my tea and now I'm going to go and put one more coat of paint on these blooming benches and that'll be it.9 -
Good afternoon,
I've not managed to read everyone's posts yet. I'm only just getting chance to reply.
I hope you're all OK and sending hugs if anyone needs them.
We had my daughters nursery graduation today. 3 weeks day and then we'll be free. I've just found out they've been preparing her for school and she doesn't understand she won't be going there or see this set of friends again so it's a little emotional in our house today. It's not so bad as the chemo, you just end up feeling really tired. I think because it's more relentless and I had to travel over an hour each way to the hospital for it, it may not be so bad for you. They recommended me to buy some seriously expensive skin cream, Aveeno, so I did but in practice I hardly used it at all. If you can find something cheaper without additives I'd go for that.

Floss I had chemo and r/t back in 2007 when I had a mastectomy and the chemo seemed to make me more tired than anything else.
R/T was also tiring but in a different way as a lot of it is hanging around waiting for your turn. I had mine at Maidstone Hospital and often their machines would break down and you had to sit and wait until they were up and running again.
As you can't just miss a session, or you had to start it all over again I had it daily for 6 weeks and it was a drag to say the least as I couldn't use my car to drive there, and one of my DDs used to take it in turn to do the 20 mile round trip.
The appointments were never at the same time either, so it could be 8.00 am or 5.00 pm depending on when there was a space free. But thankfully I got through it, and five years of drug therapy and here I am,15 years later still alive and kicking and awaiting the birth of my third great granddaughter.
So its well worth it as it really does save your life.I can never thank the girls and Drs enough for all they did for me and I literally owe them my life.
I have three tattooed dots on my right shoulder where they line the machine up to microwave youits got to be exactly in the right spot.
I was left with a lymphodemic right arm that doesn't work as well as the left one, but thats minor to me as I have just adapted to it.The main thing being was to be alive and reasonably well.
The oncologist said at the time the best thing to do was shop when there are less crowds about i.e. early morning or later in the evening as you will have less chance of picking up any infections. I must say following her advice I have had very few coughs or colds over the past 15 yearsand to be careful what you actually touch when out ,handrails, doors etc where other folk have been before as she said an awful lot of infections are passed on via ordinary handrails.
But most of all take time to rest and recharge your batteries ,your body it fighting it off for you and resting will help I used to have an hour after lunch when I did nothing but rest, difficult if you are working I know but even half an hour just eyes shut and resting will make all the difference a short 'power nap ' perhapsBut be kind to yourself and patient and you will look back on this experience and think "Yes I have done that and survived OK".
Good luck honey, you have joined the mighty band of women (and men ) who have got through and out the other side. Let me know when you do your first walk for life .I've done two with my DDs on the second one one of my 6ft very heterosexual grandsons dressed in a pink tutu and pirouetted alongside of my rattling his bucketIt was great fun and raised a good deal of cash
