The promised bad weather for yesterday has eventually arrived. I've been watching it coming across the estuary towards me, it's fascinating. The high wind is relentless, my lovely rose bushes are so batteredI've been continuing to empty my wardrobe of unwanted jackets, slightly comforted by them all being far too big for me. 😀 Only one has gone back in as it's a really thick warm and waterproof one which I will be happy to wear with layers under it. For an unfathomable reason I'm attached to it. My wardrobe now has more empty hangers in it than full ones. The big blue bag is full to the top.Today I maybe more ruthless. Can I work it that giving all this stuff is MSE?Food today will be some flan with salad bits. I had bought some little gem lettuce rather than my usual choice, and not enjoying it at all. It's more bitter than I want but I'm persevering with it and will use it up. I've got a pool class at teatime, not my first choice of time but I'm away on Thursday so will miss the lunchtime session and really want to go twice a week. Finally I find discipline. 🤔Mucky-moo - welcome to the thread. You're starting on an exciting phase of your life.Topsy - you've been under such stress recently, it's understandable that you're feeling low. It's so easy to lose sight of yourself when dealing with everything you've faced. I hope you feel better soon. Thanks to all those who posted yesterday. Happy Monday to all.13

Morning all,
Thank you for the warm words yesterday, I will try and post more frequently.
Like you Gers, I am going through my wardrobe. I have lost just over a stone, but still have another two to go. I now realise I have no cardigans or jumpers whatsoever, so I will have a look in our local charity shops.
Yesterday, I ended up feeling unwell, I drank too much fruit smoothie, I should have diluted it with water, like I do with normal fruit juice. So, it was an early night. Feeling better today.Today, we need to finish off our packing before our mini trip. I need to sort out some last minute bits and pieces at the parents first, but should be ready to set off early afternoon.Take care all.

Good morning, thanks for starting Gers, you're doing well with decluttering clothes. Makes you feel better somehow, doesn't it.
It was nice to see more posters yesterday, welcome and keep posting!
Sorry to hear you're feeling down Topsy, I hope today is a better day.
TA, I like Harrogate, in fact I like Yorkshire generally, we've had some lovely holidays there. North Yorks is not far for us either.
Ds and family were over yesterday, dgs wanted electrical advice from Granddad, it was nice to see them.
Your dh is doing really well Izzy.
Going to the Book Club this morning, that's all that planned.
Hope everyone has a good day, welcome again to new posters. Don't think you have nothing to say, just talk about your day, good or bad.
Take care folks.

Morning folks and thanks GERS. We currently have sunshine but it's been sent to fool us as rain is forecast yet again. Where's it all coming from! It's not heavy rain, just persistent mizzly drizzly stuff. And it's none too warm either, last night the heated throw was back out again. We may have had the hottest June on record but we are now paying for it with what must be the coldest July!!
I am currently skulking in the bathroom with a colour on my hair. I had my stall set out to do it last night but just CBA. The skunk look was back with a vengeance and the white roots needed sorting out.
I am out for lunch today with my DF. She finally thinks she is safe leaving her puppy under the care of her OH so our lunchtime meet ups can resume again. We are going to the carvery where I am sure a bottle of wine will be enjoyed too when we vacate to the little bar for a good catch up. We have booked a late lunch for when all the early diners have gone and we can chat in peace.
DD duly delivered the water butt yesterday and I'm not surprised it was being given away, it's in rather a sorry state. Definitely seen better days. I wish I hadn't bothered!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better and MIA. Welcome to Mucky-moo and Peony enjoy your mini trip away. Take care all, be safe xx

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, well done on culling your wardrobe.
Welcome to MuckyMoo and Peony, good to meet you.
Enjoy your book club Scarlet.
The washing dried yesterday between showers, there's a white load to do, will put it on after I've been for a shower. Painting still in progress, the door will need a final coat tomorrow then I'll try to put it back on tomorrow, it's heavier than I thought!
I had a lovely afternoon at a friend/colleague's retirement do at her house, lots of chatter and some lovely food - that was my lunch and tea! We all came home with a party bag and a piece of cake too.
I have the little one today for a while whilst her Mum and Dad are at work, not sure what we will do yet but must call at the allotment to see how things are getting on.
Hope you all have a good day, take care. XX12 -
Hi everyone,
We got back from Wales last night. We stopped near Saundersfoot for lunch with L, B and the children and then came on while they went to the beach, they are staying another week.
We had the most amazing lunch, opting for the sharing platter, they seem to have piled on far more than on the menu. For the four of us we had eight huge king prawns, eight scallops with coral, some sea bass fillets, a large rib eye steak and the same of fillet and five lobster halves. It was expensive but a bargain for what we had. Esben had three huge pieces of battered monkfish and chips for a fiver. They took a doggie bag home containing the rib eye, a lobster half and some monkfish.
Unfortunately I have come home with the latest lurgy which went round the children last week. My throat is very painful so I will be taking it easy today.
Despite that it was lovely to have all the children and grandchildren together, they grow up so fast.
Have a good day.12 -
Morning all
Lovely bright day here again we have been lucky with the weather there was a chill in the air overnight though.
Two ladies coming today and we are off to meet a friend and her client and go bowling and have a walk along the canal with a picnic lunch should be a nice day.
Ive got up this morning to discover on our ring doorbell that someone came in the gate at 2. 13 this morning 😳 and walked along the front of the house, you can see some car lights in what looks like the drive of the house opposite so I will go and speak to them this morning and see if they saw anything, it’s a bit unsettling to think someone was out there !
Salmon for dinner tonight with some new potatoes for OH and veg for me, dd is working a late shift so she will get fed at work.
Topsy sorry to hear you are struggling, you have such a lot to deal with atm, sending hugs to you xxx
Welcome to the new posters xx
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
Good Morning chums I am on my holidays on the IoW with my family and am on tenterhooks as my new baby great granddaughter is imminently due in New York
My eldest grandson Danny and his wife Hayley are waiting for their little girl Daisy to arrive. I'm hoping tomorrow as she will be a real yankee doodle dandy to arrive on Independence Day.
My eldest DD has just returned from he holiday in Greece ,and she too is waiting anxiously as it will be her first grandchild. She has been called Daisy as when I was a little girl my brother David, who apart from my late husband, was my (best friend and at times partner in crime) I could never say his name properly as a little girl, so called him Daisyit stuck with him all his life, and when sadly he passed away in 2016 in France all the family were devastated as he was such a lovely chap.
When Danny and Hayley knew they were having a little girl, Danny phoned me up and said 'Nanny we want to call her Daisy is that OK ?' I was so pleased bless him as he knew how much I missed my big brother. So Daisy she will be called. I have my phone charged up and on 24/7 and he said he will ring as soon as she arrives.
Hope every one had a good weekend, I am on the IoW, and watched the Round the Island Yacht race from the verandah at the front of the holiday house on Saturday, as we are virtually on the beach at Bembridge. Weather isn't too bad got a bit of a breeze which keeps us cool
Right time for a cuppa I think
Take care chums
