Morning all, I've been up for a while as I couldn't sleep and both of us have been churning over Dad's visit yesterday when he was a nightmare 😟 I just don't understand how his brain works 🤷♀️
It's a bit overcast today but I hope it doesn't rain as I want to get out in the garden, the grass needs cutting again. Being in the garden lifts my spirits when I'm down. If it rains I might tackle some ironing or just have a quiet day and try to pull myself together.
I envy those who have lost weight, I can't seem to lose a pound lately, and I am trying.
Welcome to Peony and MuckyMoo, I look forward to getting to know you.
Snoozer welcome back and I hope you feel better soon
RedRuby that's scary, hope you can find a neighbour and sort out the mystery of the night time wanderer
Topsy I'm so sorry you are struggling. I hope you feel more you today.
Take care all, hugs to the poorly ones those finding daily life difficult, the MIA and anyone who needs one, or two.

Morning everyone
Sunny here this morning but still blooming windy. I got 2 more coats of paint on my garden benches yesterday - another one this morning will hopefully be the last one - it will be the 6th one. If I'd known it was going to take so much effort to change them brown to blue they probably would have stayed brown! They do look nice though.
DD and little one will be home sometime today - they seem to have been away for ages - it's only a week really. Little one has a big week as it's transition day on Friday and she'll spend the whole day at big school. Luckily it's only across the yard from our nursery as we'll still have to do the medical care she needs three times during the day as the school staff aren't fully trained yet.
It was lovely to have so much to read this morning and welcome to our new friends. I'll wish you all a good day and go out and do some more painting before I need to get ready for work. x14 -
Morning all, & welcome MuckyMoo and Peony. It's a yucky morning, quite heavy rain. Gers it was sunny when I got up but I watched the clouds coming in- not over an estuary with a good view though. I had a poor night's sleep so will be shattered later. Camelot hope you have a good day with DGD.DS2 & DGC arrived back home from Turkey during the night, he said he got to sleep around 4, and rang me at 8 as the traffic woke him but the children were still asleep, they've had a great time. He said he'll bring the suitcase back that he borrowed but can he leave the clothes in it for me to wash
. To be fair he has a washer/drier with a much smaller capacity than my washer & it would take ages so I said ok. There you are you see, that's Money saving, but for him not me !
Taff, I'm not surprised you're pooped- slow down a bit! Glad you enjoyed the meet up with your friend.Snoozer your lunch sounds delicious, welcome backBella hope DD settles nicely in her new homeRR, we have a camera & I hate knowing there are prowlers aroundGoodness Dp1, getting ready for reception for little one, doesn't seem long since she was a baby. Hope she flourishes.Jackie, enjoy the IOW, and good luck for the baby.Nan - hope you get a good night's sleep tonight, you're very patient with your dad.Scarlet enjoy book club.I'm really sorry if I haven't mentioned you, brain fog/lack of sleep.Easy tea tonight, quiche and chips for the men, I'll finish off the chicken legs with salad.Wishing everyone a good day x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Sending hugs, Nanny, I hope your dad improves soon.
Topsy, you have been through such a lot lately, fingers crossed the new treatment on your son's leg works.
Welcome Mucky moo.
dp1, how time flies doesn't it before we know it all the little ones will be teenagers and these days will be just a lovely memory. Esben came into the bedroom yesterday after I had showered and regarded me critically. He said "Nonna, your nipples are very small" I said "Yes, they are but I was still able to feed mummy and Uncle Chris like your mummy feeds Esther" He said "Did that make them shrink". I have always known they were nothing to write home about but to have it pointed out by a three year old is a bit much.
Jackie. I'll be keeping fingers crossed for Daisy to arrive safely and hopefully tomorrow.12 -
Snoozer, I love Saundersfoot, the beach is ideal for littlies as its so shallow. I should have been away in Tenby in May but had to cancel as my breast cancer surgery was that week.
I'm due to start my radiotherapy tomorrow, and have a visit from my boss later today. I've been off work since 10th May and I think this is a welfare type visit. Life has been very slow & steady as a result, but as my hols were insured I have had some work done on my garden, and have been able to enjoy that while the weather is good.
I've just had a couple of nights with DS2 & DDiL in East London. They took me to see Hamilton on Friday which was amazing. They're in the process of selling to move back to the NW so it's probably the last time I will stay at their home.

SuffolkSue the house is almost opposite the lifeboat station and they launched it on Saturday morning, and people love to see it go whooshing down the slipway. No emergency, just out to keep an eye on the yachts and make sure no one got into difficulties.
I too am hoping for tomorrow for the new baby .My eldest brother was born on 4th July and my aunt in New Jersey would always send him $10.00 which in the 1940s/50s was at times difficult to change unless you were in London .
I remember my late Mum going into the local bank (Martins Linen Bank ) shows how long ago that wasand being looked at in a very odd manner when she asked them to change a ten dollar bill.
But back in those days you often had to go into a bank to change down a five pound note as shop keepers wern't keen on using up all their change
sounds daft now when a fiver isn't worth anywhere near as much anymore.

Good morning! Sun is kind of shining occasionally, it has rained a few spits but that's it. I was going to be collecting some plants today but she's not feeling up to it and to be honest, neither am I after yesterday. I will content myself with some major pottering indoors and out instead. And add to my shopping list. When I lived in Wales I always used to go to a local cafe and have a filter coffee [ posh coffee] and a slice of chocolate fudge cake after work on a Thursday with a magazine and sit there for an hour or so and enjoy doing nothing. I spent quite a lot of time in that cafe [run by two Italian brothers] from when I was in school [ occasional treat in th sixth form] to when I left, and I used to go back when I went back. It's now up for sale because they want to retire so that's another marking of passing time and I feel a bit sad about it. Mostly probably because it means I'm not getting any younger and nostalgia has walloped me over the head.Nanny, it's a shame the charabnc is no longer picking up, he could have gone on a journey
snoozer, ouch, out of the mouths of babes...Rosy, I thought that was a prerequisite of being a child anyway?
bella, hope she's happy in her new home! Suffolksue, haven't seen her for ages..TA, hang the dyeing, go white and proud
Ruby, scary..it's difficult to know whether they were casing the joint or just lost..Jackie, have fun! camelot, don't envy you the painitng, hope it goes quickly! Take care all, enjoy the non sub zero temperatures even if it feels like that sometimes

Just had a visit from DS & DGS,accompanied by the suitcase. Taff
It's only a couple of washes in my washer, though .I'll have to TD as it's still prone to rain here. All light stuff though so won't take ages. He's already taken DGd home so we'll have to wait until Wed. to see her but I'll speak to her in a bit. Sorry about your fave cafe closing- the same thing happened to our family favourite restaurant- also due to retirement after 40 odd years
DH came home too- rained off but he had finished what he needed to do today.Floss I'm so sorry to hear of your health problems- good luck with the radiotherapy tomorrow.Snoozer that made me laugh out loud!
