FVF offers and BIN listings

Just wanted to check with the more experienced Ebayers here. How does the FVF offer work with BIN listings for sellers?

I'm used to doing auctions and obviously you list the item, if it sells them the FVF is discounted but an auction only lasts a week.

This time round I've experimented with BIN listings and all good so far but I'm just wondering if I'm interpreting the rules correctly.

A BIN listing lasts a month so provided my item sells any time in that month then the FVF is discounted? Now this weekend I've got another 100 discounted listings to use? So in effect the listings from two weeks ago continue with the FVF offer and this weekend I can list another 100 with the offer and effectively have 200 discounted listings?

Then in two weeks the first batch will have expired and I should relist them?

Just slightly worried that somehow this new offer this weekend cancels the offer I already had.

I suspected I would only have 100 in total so my existing listings would count towards that but it seems not. Ive got a full 100 discounted listings to use.

You are over complicating things. If you have the FVF offer and if BINs are included then you can list 100 new items , or cancel existing BINs and relist them and the first 100 listings either BIN or auction will count down from your current offer.

Any previous offers remain in play , so if you do have 100 more items to list then you can list them, and if you watch your seller dashboard you will see the 100 special offer listings counting down .

Anything that is automatically relisted (and BINs automatically renew after a month) will not be taken from your current offer.

That's what I thought but just wanted to double check. Was just slightly surprise I got a whole new 100 listings to play with but it does make sense.

Time to list the entire contents of my house then.

If it follows the usual pattern you should get these offers twice a month, plus you still also get your 1000 free listings a month (up to whatever restriction ebay have placed on your account, and this can be seen on your seller dashboard for accounts that have been opened for approx 10 years or less)

Private sellers also don't have their BIN listings taken from that 1000 limit when they roll over, so every month you could add 1000 new free listings, plus potentially another 200 listings with FVF offers.

I started a newish account about 10 years old  which is not my main private account, it was initially set up to sell inherited items where I was splitting the money with another person, that account for instance has a limit of 610 new items a month with a £10,000 limit, but it says I can request more (but I don't need more). My main private account has no limits at all but has been opened approx 16 years.

Makes BIN a much better idea than auctions really as I can now have 200 active listings with the FVF offers rather than just 100 auctions at any one time. If I'd known that I'd have switched over sooner to BIN.

With most of the stuff I sell listing at normal times doesn't make much sense as by the time Ebay have taken their cut I'd be as well just keeping the item. Even though I'm only clearing out unwanted stuff from an over cluttered house I'm only really interested in selling at a price that makes sense to me.

Going to be busy today trying to cobble together 100 listings before the end of the day. Wish I'd checked on Friday now.

Just to bump an old thread, I have 2 private accounts and every other week since January I have received the 70% off FVF offer on both. Today one of them did not get the offer, so it really is quite random.

EDIT- Just to add, the one without the offer is the one with the 'defect' showing marked as delivered late by customer. (see this thread 'late' defects — MoneySavingExpert Forum)

It might just be a co incidence but  perhaps I was right to be concerned about it as this is the first time I haven't had the offer, and the first time I have this defect showing.

This is my 6 Month without an offer.  I am losing the will!

Perfect account ( 100%, no lates or anything else)and am still listing. Have had a few sales lately though I am listing cheaper stuff because of the fees.

I got the 70%FVF offer on both private accounts again this week , I did wonder if the account with the defect would continue to be ignored.
