Last month my line manager, who worked 4 compressed days a week, and his line manager were both made redundant. I was gutted that I didn't win that lottery.
Maybe a problem with being too good at your job.
The irony in these situations is often the ones who get made redundant, are gutted as they had not expected it/not planned for it/see it as a personal blow to their ego, and the ones remaining wish it was them.

In my former line of work it wasn’t a case of who’s is good at their job, it was how much salary you was getting. The people on the highest salary got the chop first.

Well my experience was the opposite. The ones who rubbed up people the wrong way and kept arguing about everything to a daft degree, were invariably the ones out of the door first.Thumbs_Up said:Albermarle said:Last month my line manager, who worked 4 compressed days a week, and his line manager were both made redundant. My line manager was certainly one of those! I am just holding the thought that 19 years service is too much to walk away from at this pointAlbermarle said:
