Car Battery Warranty After 1st Replacement Has Failed?

    You cannot have warranty on warranty - HOWEVER - if the replacement part fails before expiry of the original warranty then the original warranty still applies.

    ***I still have 4.5 months left of the original 5 year warranty.*** therefore that is how much warrnty applies.

    As stuhse has advised you need to check the charging system to ensure the battery failure is not caused by something else

    I do long journeys on motorways at a steady 60 with nothing drawing power save my iPhone as a sat nav.  Journeys vary between 100 to 180 miles and are about a week apart on average.  I do no stop/start or piddly shops and back stuff as the van is solely used for my work.

    As said to others; charging system is fine as is the resting voltage (12.72 vdc).  Its the cranking amperage that is not being delivered and that is how all my previous failures went over the past 35 years (in different vehicles obviously).  Diesel engines demand a higher CCA or it dies.

    It's a small diesel van, not a car.  I have killed Varta, Exide, and Yuasa (total rubbish).  My wife has a Bosch, in her midget-sized Citroen, and that is right as ninepence.

    I have, maybe twice.
    I vaguely recall that a battery on a Maestro I owned back in the 1990s died within a year, but I'm not confident of the details.
    More recently I bought a used Octavia, about 2007. The battery failed about 2 weeks after I bought it and the replacement lasted around 2 years. It was replaced with a heavier duty battery that lasted at least 6 years and was still good when it was PXed.

    In which case get your starter motor & circuitry checked out as well
