Increased price

I don't wish to go into detail here, so wont be specific. Rest assured were talking lots of money.
We paid for a service last september, but they couldn't provide then. They didn't refund us. We have now received notification to proceed next month. But they have increased the price considerably. Is this legal?
If they have taken the monety and held on, then they cannot increase the price.
My thought is in the letter (always arrives saturday so you worry all weekend). It also has to send some things because they are legally required, and this increase is an error. Can anyone ease my weekend stress?

Appreciate you don't want to go into detail, but there's too little information here to give sensible help. Don't know what you mean by "my thought is in the letter" or "it also has to send some things".4

It will almost certainly depend on the terms and conditions agreed when the booking of the service was made. If adequately covered in their terms then likely legal unless it was booked for a certain date (or date range) and they postponed.
Without more details I cannot see how anyone else can assist further…0 -
Its a self pay medical.
To user1977, some leaflets info the supplier is obliged to send (they however may not have any relevance. Hope this clarifies.
BTW going elsewhere is not an option. Too much pain0 -
What do the Terms and Conditions say about charges being increased?
What was stated about future charges when the service was delayed
Did you ask for a refund when the service was delayed?

What does this mean?

Given the information you’ve shared I’m very confident in saying that it depends.6

Nope, I'm still none the wiser. You're going to have to provide much more detail if you want good advice.1

It is quite reasonable that the cost has risen between last September and now.
I think the OP has two choices, refuse to pay and not get the op or pay up.
Even if it were possible to force the private surgeon to operate at the old price against his will, I'm not sure that I would be comfortable doing that.
OP, which country have you booked to get your wife's op? Turkey?0 -
Many thanks all. I had totally forgotten previous communication chain. Well done alderbank0
