She said, naively.I was jesting :-)On a serious note, tho', with any situation that will possibly need to be escalated or passed on to 'authorities', I think it's important for the innocent party to be 100% reasonable and consistent. Play it by the book, and give the other side the rope.Although your idea could possibly work with some folk - being 'called out' like this might embarrass some folk to behave properly - it could just as easily backfire. For instance, if they gesticulate or mock even more as a result, what do you do? And, should this matter need to be escalated, how would you explain your 'trivialising' behaviour that the other party claim is what provoked them?I think the secret is to put as much contrast between the two sets of behaviours as is possible.2
