Hi,
Has anyone purchased an International flight ticket from ASAP travel?
Looking to travel to USA and their deals look ok….have to say I have never heard of them.
Many thanks

    Never heard of them.

Personally, unless booking a package holiday from a reputable travel agent (such as Tui, Virgin Holidays etc) I would always book flights directly with the airline (Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, Delta, American, etc).

No direct experience of them but the prevailing advice on here is to avoid cheap 'bucket shops' as you get what you pay for, i.e. it's not unknown for tickets not to be purchased, or prices to be increased post-purchase, or problems if changes need to be made, or difficulties in the event of needing to make claims, etc, etc.

Some US company... love the T&Cs that say you unconditionally authorise them to charge your debit/credit card for any chargeback made plus the chargeback fees

Been travelling for over 20 years and I have never heard of them. Doesn't mean they aren't legit of course.

Make sure you read reviews online such as trustpilot and also read user opinions elsewhere such as this warning.
They are an American company, so here are lots more reviews on the Better Business Bureau.

All you can do is do your research and decide if to use them or not.

I personally avoid any super cheap places myself, and I try to book flights direct, but this is my personal choice. I wouldn't use them for a flight, but that's me.

I'm going to sound like I work for ASAP Tickets now but I don't think it's necessarily fair to link individual reviews.

The Trustpilot rating of 4.9 (with 90% 5* reviews from 73,608) is pretty impressive but linking one specific complaint is not fair (where it seems the crux of the issue is that the complainant was able to purchase tickets where two kids were intended to sit on one adults lap - which obviously isn't allowed with any airline and blame could just as easily be pointed at either party).

While booking directly is generally the superior (and most expensive) option, in the past I have used a couple of these types of outfits without issue.

That said, I will side with eskbanker in his comment:

The main complaint I see is around amendments & cancellations. While people booking directly have the luxury of being able to communicate with the airline directly, I commonly see those booking through a middleman like this having to wait months in silence (as they often operate a skeleton customer service team to keep costs down), sent from pillar to post and all the while charging fees for the privilege. Refunds can't be chased with the airline, as the airline was not paid by you.

It's the price of certainty I guess, the significant majority of flights will obviously complete without issue. The majority of people using ASAP tickets are likely to have financially benefited from their choice to do so.
    Know what you don't

Their UK website claims that they operate in connection with a UK-based company called Traveltech Enterprises. This has one director, who claims to have a parent company in Malta and then a further parent in the US with a sole owner called Alex Weinstein.

However, it doesn't hold an ATOL licence and isn't a member of ABTA but does have very low fares on the first page of its UK website. If those fares exist they can only be with Fly Norse but they are stated to be for November and/or February, so if you think they will still be flying next year, look directly at the airline website. I am not convinced that I would book through ASAP, the address in Baker Street is an accommodation address, not a real office of ASAP
