Well no, they had to to a joint bundle and it's what they do every day. Nothing that organised, just part of their money-making conveyor belt.

As I am resigned to the hearing, please advise me on what to expect?

As the lay rep, will I begin the advocacy by reciting some of the highlights of the defence/witness statement?  Given that the judge will have already read it?

Or will the judge cherry-pick some points of interest and expect me to elaborate on those?

I fear the judge asking me to opine on parts of my defence in detail like the cited cases or going outside the scope of the defence/WS.  Leaving me exposed & putting my ignorance on full display.

    Thank you

Isn't this - the order of speaking and what to expect - already in the NEWBIES thread in the hearings section? I haven't checked it recently.

I've already read the below.  If there's more please direct me to it.

    THE HEARING
It's a meeting - think of it as the ultimate face to face 'appeal'. Get there half an hour early to get through security & sign in with the Usher.

DO NOT agree to talk in a side room with the Claimant's rep, they are trying to scare you into settling the claim outside the Judge's room...nope.

Go in confidently and wish the Judge a Good Morning/Afternoon. Call the Judge 'Sir' or 'Madam' or 'Judge'.

Search the forum for 'ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST' and read about hearings and what happened in winning cases.

Most Judges are friendly; they listen and know about PPC 'scams'. Take a crib sheet with you; bullet points to help you focus.

Are you the Lay Rep for someone else or do you mean you are the Litigant in Person?

Lay repping for my father.  It's his defence not mine.  Typo on earlier comment.

Your father can still be asked questions.

  • Didn’t get the desired outcome.  But received a reduction off the claim amount.

District Judge was satisfied with the POCs & witness statement submitted by Gladstone.

Oh well, pay it and move on.

Was the fake £60 or £70 per PCN removed and some interest as well?
