Possibility to claim compensation from AirBNB
Comments
-
Sure you can sue them, nobody can stop you.
All you will need to show is that AirBNB is responsible for the behaviour of the host, that the behaviour of the host was unreasonable, the specific losses you incurred as a result of this, that the UK court has jurisdiction over the matter and that your claim for $1000 is justified. Then see what the judge says.
Personally I think they'll tell you to go away and not bother them, but I've been wrong before.0 -
I think I can see why the OP fell out with the host and AirBnB.6

OP is disgruntled - I get that.
Unfortunately there isn't really a price on disgruntlement.
Grown up thing (not being ageist) is to suck it up and move on. Life's too short

free legal advice:
airbnb is a platform which means they connect people
they fulfilled that responsibility ie connected you to the host, and thus you have no grounds to sue them
you should sue the host. you will have to do that in the country where the service / accommodation was provided.1 -
I do have to admit I'm curious how this went from normal Airbnb booking to being harassed and abused by the host. I suspect there may be some intermediate steps we aren't hearing about.dil1976 said:I think I can see why the OP fell out with the host and AirBnB.
Not sure its likely the host just starting texting 'when are you checking in you smelly old geriatric fool?' unless they had some serious Google translate issues1
