Having recently moved to sky full fibre from Vodafone fibre 1 fttc, now have my phone plugged into my sky router instead of a master socket (no phone line required)does this mean when I eventually move from sky to my next supplier I will be able to just plug into the new router and keep my home phone?

Not all providers offer phone service on full fibre but if your chosen provider does offer it and the router has a phone port then the answer is yes.
We've had phone service on full fibre for around three years, initially with BT and the phone plugged into the router and when we changed to Vodafone just plugged the phone straight into the router and it worked as expected, same number etc.
I've no doubt in the fullness of time, most providers will either offer phone services either via the router or by using a adapter but you'd have to check what services they provide and how its provided before making the jump.

Appears that Sky are not offering phone service with their FTTP for new customers now.0

Once you are on Openreach FTTP, with Vodafone, Sky or anyone else , it becomes the default method of service, so your next provider will almost certainly have to use the FTTP network and not the copper pair you had your FTTC Vodafone service on , as stated , not all FTTP providers are offering a phone service with their broadband , so if a ‘landline’ type phone service is important you would have to pick a suitable FTTP broadband provider or make alternate arrangements, like a traditional VoIP supplier0

What makes you say that? I took their FTTP a month back and have a phone service, I can't see anything online?brewerdave said:Appears that Sky are not offering phone service with their FTTP for new customers now.0 -
I had a mailshot from Sky for FTTP where they stated it wasn't suitable for customers who needed a landline and/or were in an area with poor or no mobile reception. I have also seen the same on the latest TV adverts.JSmithy45AD said:

Just choose a third-party VOIP provider like AAISP. I pay a couple of £s a month plus calls. You can then switch your BB provider as many times as you like.

Something weird going on then - why did they send me a mailshot for FTTP actually stating not suitable for those with a need of a landline ?steveE2 said:

Because technically digital voice isn't a landline. If someone NEEDS a copper landline to run an alarm system or similar then phone via fibre won't work for them.brewerdave said:
