Banished number

I used a sim-only number from Three for the past eight years. No problems. I'm staying in Asia long-term now. Just got locked out my Santander account so needed to receive a text. No network. Phoned three.co.uk and they said the number is banished as I didn't top up in the last six months and they cannot get it back. I checked, they sent no email or text to warn me. Just spam email from them. They said even if they could have reclaimed it, it would need to be on a new physical sim card sent to my UK address.

What are my options? All my banking is linked to this. Is there any way to link any number to the sim I have?

I vaguely recall, I bought two sims eight years ago (from three) and never used the other one. If I still have it, will that work (with a different number obviously)?

Your Three PAYG SIM is dead, you need a new number on its own SIM to register with your bank(s). Your second unused Three SIM if never activated is likely invalid after 8 years, and would need to be activated in UK if not.
