Clearly its only been a year since I last told them I don't want their junk. Surely this is not right? They are putting it through my door again. I've told them repeatedly why do they have no respect for me? Why is there no mechanism in government or ombudsman or regulator to get them to stop this? This is a nuisance, it is disrespectful, it is a waste of resources in many many ways.
Now I have to go to a lot of trouble to get a form again? I don't have a printer and I certainly shouldn't have to buy a bloody printer because RM have no respect. I shouldn't have to spend my time searching for a wya to get a form sent to me, that probably take ages to reach me. I thought I'd already asked for a form. I set up a bloody automatic email to get a form went to me every year, but no form.

Opt out should last for 2 years after which you will need to resubmit the form.

I can understand that it's really annoying for the OP, but I doubt that anyone will be able to say anything different that was on last years thread on the same subject .....

It seems rather bizarre that in this day and age you have to physically send them a paper form.

Royal Mail gets paid handsomely to deliver junk mail, so they're going to make it as difficult as possible to opt out.

OP - go to your local library; they have public access computers where you can complete and print out the form (10p/page at ours).

Royal Mail do not have a  choice. That 'junk' is what they refer to as 'door to door' leaflets and they are paid by the companies to deliver it. Its not in the same category as local business leaflets which are pushed through your door.

Its not disrespectful of Royal Mail to post it through your door unless you are currently opted out. Just for the record, the posties dont like them either as it means they have to deliver to every house on D to D day and its also a lot of additional weight to carry.

without the income from these leaflets the charge for normal post would be much higher.

That's just it, I am opted out. This is not the first time this has happened, I'm sick and tired of having to phoned them up and make endless complaints because even when I opt out, they still  put the garbage through my door.  And I'm not talking about during the 'grace period' either. As I said in my OP here, it's only been a year, I know that because I obviously made a post about this a year ago. I should not have to keep doing this. I've set up an email to request the form and I have not received an opt out form, why the hell should I have to pay out of my own pocket to print a form to stop this? This should be a legal thing, I should be able to opt out permanently.  This is unworkable, it is unacceptable and this system of theirs needs to change.
why is there no regulator for this? They are costing me time and money and causing me an unreasonable amount of distress.

I know it shouldn't happen but why do you let it 'cause you distress'; why do you choose to waste your time and money on it.
I grab my mail, throw the junk in the bin and open the stuff that is relevant.
Total time on my part is only a few seconds.
I am opted out, still get the junk mail, some via the postman and others through 'mail box stuffers'. Like you I should not get it but the inconvenience borders on virtually nil and really is not worth stressing over.

I'm not sure if it's some form of ADHD or Autism or something else, I'm still waiting to see someone to get a diagnosis.
  • When the postie spams you with the unsolicited stuff, you could return it using your nearest postbox, let them have their litter back. It won’t change anything (we’d need a national effort for that) but you might get some satisfaction.

Alternatively, just keep putting it in the recycling bin.
