    If the holiday is booked, paid for ay you have the savings then I would just go ahead with it. The last time I was made redundant (with no notice), I just booked  last minute holiday and was on a beach 24 hours later. I can be good to clear your head an think about what you want to do next. Maybe better than stopping and home and feeling unhappy about the loss of job and the holiday,

    You could always take a laptop/tablet with you so that you can start your job hunting while on holiday. I even had a couple of remote interviews from my hotel balcony.

    Today, my partners has been offered a functional skills job! Not what he wants long term but a role he could do for 6-12 months and takes all the pressure off! Thanks for all your replies!
