****July's Goals****
Apologies for the many posts today, I've had quite a bit of time to think about things.
I'm starting off slowly with my goals this month, I have been too sedentary for a long time. I realise that we are part way through the month already too.
So my goals for July look like this -- Lunches to Work aim for 12
- Alcohol Free Days aim for 5
- Make our bed every morning
- Swim at least once a week
- Go for a walk at least once a week
- Finish my book - Fall by Simon Clark
- Clean at least part of the house per week
- Limit Ipad and phone screen times
If I can get to grips with these I will be happy.Current debts - Lloyd's card £4130.00 (0% Oct 23) - Barclaycard £3400.00 (0% Oct 24) - Lloyd's loan £3640.00 - Curry's £441.00 Total owed - £11,611.00 Credit card total owed - £7,530.00
Aiming to kick the debt and lose the weight by the time I'm 50.

I was just touching 13 stones at Christmas so I feel your pain. I’ve been logging calories on Nutra check and although it’s been really slow going I might just get to my goal before next Christmas 🤭 I find the hardest thing is that when you are trying to be good with money the ‘cheap’ treats tend to be food based, so I struggle to be good with both areas at the same time. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Morning,
Brought my breakfast and lunch with me today.
Our bed has been made and I have put Thursday's dinner in a pot to marinade over the next few days.
Had a low alcohol night last night and slept quite well.
Hoping for a second NSD today too.Current debts - Lloyd's card £4130.00 (0% Oct 23) - Barclaycard £3400.00 (0% Oct 24) - Lloyd's loan £3640.00 - Curry's £441.00 Total owed - £11,611.00 Credit card total owed - £7,530.00

Morning,
Resisted the urge to buy my breakfast this morning and brought it in instead, muesli, not as exciting as a Cumberland sausage breakfast roll from the cafe but it'll do for the moment. Treat day's are Friday's and payday's.
Brought my lunch to work today too, the only thing I did buy was a yogurt to go with it, we have fruit in the office so I have some of those too.
Last night was also a low alcohol night and I'm noticing the difference, whilst I've never been a massive drinker, it can sometimes get out of hand especially at the weekend so small changes, my sleep is improving.
I made our bed again this morning, it was so nice to get in to a ready made bed last night.
Three things that make me happy:
1. DS is loving his new company
2. I love getting in to a made bed at the end of the day
3. I seem to have found a renewed enthusiasm for life in general

I can relate to your diary in so many ways, in parts it feels like I could have written it.
I am too feeling the benefits of no alcohol in my case. I have so much more energy when I get up in the morning, I'm sticking to my diet and my resting heart rate has gone down by about 15 beats. Thats after only 4 days of no alcohol. I'm really invested in going long term with this to see what other improvements I see. (Besides the obvious bank balance).
Have a good day!Total debt when my journey began in December 2022- £66,133.42

Bit the bullet and paid the odd £5 off the Lloyd's card, so that's a nice round number again.Current debts - Lloyd's card £4130.00 (0% Oct 23) - Barclaycard £3400.00 (0% Oct 24) - Lloyd's loan £3640.00 - Curry's £441.00 Total owed - £11,611.00 Credit card total owed - £7,530.00

Morning,
This year is going to be the year where every appliance is going to break.
It started out at the beginning of the year that the oven broke, it was at least 25 years old and was in the house when we bought it 6 years ago and we had spent the last three years fixing it that we then had no option but to replace it.
Now the dishwasher has gone, our previous one we bought from FB market place for £100 (I think) and lasted us three years, but on Sunday it decided that it was having no more of it. So we have been to Curry's and bought a new one, it is on the My Plan over 6 months at 0% so plenty of time to pay it off.
I have a feeling the kitchen fridge is also on it's last legs, that too was left by the previous owners and is well over the 6 years old that we have had it, it is limping along I just hope it lasts a bit longer, if we do buy a new one, then this won't be over the My Plan thing, I have money in a Pot that will cover for one.
I had a look on Rightmove on Friday (boredom) and I saw that the couple that bought our old house have put it up for sale, it is absolutely gorgeous now they have done so much to it. We didn't have the money to really do anything to it, we did the kitchen and replaced the conservatory but then the debts and kids took over.
Anyway moving on.......
I love the house we moved to, we have redone the main bathroom as it ended up with the bath leaking in to the kitchen (not fun!), next to do is the en-suite, the shower is out of commission, the toilet is just about usable and the sink has a slight crack in it. Last quote for that was approx £4000 but I think that will have risen by now.
Hence the need to get rid of the CC debt, I really want to get the en-suite done.
There is still a lot that needs doing in the house, decorating, new carpets etc cosmetic stuff as well as the kitchen needing replacing (that's last on the list!)
Money saving wise, I have eaten breakfast in the office this past two days, they provide bread etc and I have brought my lunch with me too, so that is at least £20 saved alone.
I want to get a list together of things that need to be done in and outside the house, then we have something to work on, my thinking is the satisfaction of crossing each thing off will spur us on to do the next thing and won't be as overwhelming.

I went to comment on AC's diary, I used to follow him a lot on my old profile and notice he's been Banned...That's a shame.Current debts - Lloyd's card £4130.00 (0% Oct 23) - Barclaycard £3400.00 (0% Oct 24) - Lloyd's loan £3640.00 - Curry's £441.00 Total owed - £11,611.00 Credit card total owed - £7,530.00

Morning,
Not much to report, inching my way to payday next week.
I've brought my lunch with me every day this week and as they provide bread and condiments at work, I've been having toast for breakfast.
I need to think about my goals for August.
I have gathered a list of things that need doing in the house and want to make a gradual start, so this weekend I plan to wash the garage door, it needs a paint/replaced but a clean up will make it look slightly better I feel. My plan is to get one of those roller doors that will probably be more eco friendly than the old one we have at the moment that lets in the cold, but all in due course.
Hope everyone has a good day x
