DCBL debt collections ?!?!

Got a letter from DCBL this morning about a parking fine I know nothing about from 9th April 23?
It says the client is CP PLUS LTD but I’ve never heard from them
I do use the service station quite often for drive through coffees but I can’t recall actually “parking” there
my 3 year old daughter is severely  disabled and had we been parked I would have displayed her disability parking permit ??
They’re threatening bailiffs if I don’t pay £170 within 14 days - don’t know where to start

Start by reading the NEWBIES thread 4th post, please.

You are at "ignore the £170 threatograms" stage.  These are not bailiffs letters because it hasn't been to court (you'll win anyway, when it does - dead easy and NO RISK).

DO NOT PAY.  THIS IS NOTHING.

You should reply by email once to tell them to get lost but to ERASE YOUR OLD ADDRESS.

Do the same with Group Nexus but NO SAYING WHO WAS DRIVING.

And go get your V5C logbook and change the address on it.  Your car reg address is not up to date at the DVLA, I bet.

This is what has caused you to miss the PCN.

    They are CP Plus.

We have THOUSANDS of threads about them over the years. Here's a person at your stage:

Your priority is to sort out your V5C and get the parking firm and its pet 'bailiff-impersonating' thugs to ERASE the old address from their databases.

You cannot risk missing a claim (so easy to defend).

    Do as Coupon says .....

Group Nexus are only a two man band who trade under different names, CP Plus being one ...... nothing to be concerned about

I doubt they were "threatening bailiffs" as it's not been to court ?  Maybe you were reading their childish logo  "Can't pay, we'll take it away"
  • Yes the logo is threatening

    Yes the logo is threatening
But they can't take anything away!  And never likely to.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

sorry for the late reply im
struggling to stay ontop of this issue as I am a full time carer for my little girl and working on top !

I have reported my lack of post to Royal Mail  though who have emailed me to say they’re investigating

It's right here - top and bottom of this page - already.  You have hyperlinks above and below this thread, to hop to page one.

My signature (under every post I make, and I replied last week on this thread) even tells all newbies exactly what the top hyperlink looks like.

The bottom one is even more obvious, a blue link right under the reply box below.
