Forced to take Amazon Prime - trying to cancel

Have never take Amazon Prime but today I was unable to check out my basket without it as the option to NOT take it was just not offered. (Contents were a birthday present and no other way of getting it at the moment). Now trying to work out how to cancel this ASAP but can't find it - anyone know? I'm never going to order from them again if this is going to carry on. Really resent it and not entirely sure it's legal? Thanks.

- Go to Amazon
- Accounts and Lists
- Your Prime Membership
- Manage Membership

When I do that, it just gives me other options for different types of Prime Membership. There's NO option for "Manage Membership" - I've looked 3 times. Can you tell me where you found that on the page? Thanks.

Go to my account
Click on Prime
Then click manage membership
If you do not have these options could you post what you do have and we can advise, it may be that they didn't actually subscribe you (or have you had emails that they have?):eek::eek: LBM 11/05/2010 - WE DID IT - DMP of £62000 paid off in 7 years:jDFD April20171 -
I can't show you as I don't currently have prime. I recall thread a few weeks ago where someone else had similar issues around Prime membership.
I suggest you check tomorrow and if the option still isn't there go onto live chat.1 -
Cancelling Prime is one of the easiest things to do.
Also you do not have to take it to make a purchase, just read carefully what the options are & you can make the purchase without.Life in the slow lane2 -
The problem can be on a smallish screen mobile device, the option buttons can be easily missed.

Although I no longer have Prime, I've never had any problems cancelling renewals or even when accepting a trial offer. In fact Amazon U.K. keep offering me 99p for a week's trial since I cancelled last February! They are apparently being sued in the U.S. over alleged renewals and/or cancellation issues there. As beckstar1975 has posted, that's what I have always seen in my account.0

Title is a little misleading. You wasn't 'forced'.

Took my money elsewhere as ultimately less hassle than trying to cancel a trial I didn’t want….0 -
I have just bought something using the app on my phone - £5 off a £15 spend using app so rude not to, spent £25 for free delivery - and it didn't try to force me into Prime at any price - free, 99p or full price.
