Ryanair refund

I booked a holiday for my sons 18th birthday which we were going away on the 6 January 2024. This was booked on 10 April 2023.
On the 28 April 2023 I had an email that stated my flight with Ryanair has been cancelled and an alternative for Friday 5 January was offered to us. This was not acceptable due to 4 people being involved.
On the 30 April 2023 I had an email offering me a voucher to use on another flight , this was not acceptable as we wanted to fly on the 6 January 2024.
I have had numerous chats both on the chat and on the telephone with Ryanair and loveholidays with various promises by them that we would get a cash refund.
On one occasion I spoke on the telephone to an advisor who told me that I would get the refund as he had processed this and to wait 14 days but this did not arrive.
I then spoke to another advisor via email and after giving all bank information I was told no more than 14 working days, this was on 4 June 2023 and we have reached the 14 working days and still no refund.
As you can imagine we have been asking for the refund from beginning of April 23 and it is now June 23 and stress levels have been to the utmost and not good for a man my age.
I have been looking at alternative flight and because they have delayed me with the refund the price of the flights have went up
I am unsure where to go next as they are not replying to emails anymore
Grateful for info/help
Thankyou
Alan

Your contract is with Love Holidays, not Ryanair who may well have refunded in full already, so you must pursue your agent Love Holidays0
-
Were you billed direct by Ryanair for the flights (would show as Ryanair on your bank statement)Life in the slow lane0
-
Love holiday state it is Ryanair and Ryanair have said they will pay but all false promises on emails as to paying it0

If you'd booked directly with Ryanair then they'd have emailed you the flight change and you'd have had the choice of accepting the change or asking for a refund. This would have taken 30 seconds via a form on their website and you'd have had your refund within a few days.
Booking Ryanair via an agent adds complexity as you don't have access to the Ryanair booking so the agent would have to do this for you, as they'd have paid with their own payment details and not yours.
However you need to take Ryanair out of it, as has been stated above you booked a package with Love Holidays so your contract is with them. When your flight was cancelled the you are entitled to your choice of:
- Accepting new dates
- Replacement flight on the original dates to allow the holiday to go ahead as planned
- Full refund of the holiday
Love Holidays should have helped arrange this, and they should be the ones dealing with Ryanair. These are your rights under the Package and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018. Love Holidays themselves know this, from their own site: Your package rights | loveholidays0
