Get a small child from the 70s. Before health and safety we would have been straight up that tree!

I could have made all those suggestions but your estimate of 12-14 metres....i.e. 40-46 ft dismissed most of them.1

Sensible suggestion - drain rods ? Mine go to about 12 metres, if you put the twisty thing on the end might be possible to dislodge it1

Yes, our chimney/drain rods are extendable to just about any distance, they are light and perfect for this type of rescue. You could also look at cable rods, which are used to feed cables into cavities, very lightweight flexible and extendable.Simonon77 said:Sensible suggestion - drain rods ? Drain rods are a good call! Do like the idea of a rope with a hook on the end. New garden games when drinking I think!2006 LBM £28,000+ in debt.

jonnydeppiwish! said:Drain rods are a good call!Unfortunately not. As per ThisIsWeird's post suggesting the exercise is videoed, drain rods are designed to be flexible to go round bends, and are relatively heavy.... getting a 12m string of rods to go 12m vertically up in the air would be an amazing feat if you do manage to perform it though.(Long bamboo canes are more rigid and weigh less)1
