Funds on hold

A buyer has reported an item not received, I’ve put the tracking number with photos of parcel on the doorstep and have heard nothing back from them. However Ebay are saying my funds are on hold. Will they now be released now I’ve given proof of delivery?

I eventually spoke to a person and they said they can’t release funds until case is closed despite me showing proof of delivery. I’m now waiting for buyer to respond. It seems unfair.0

I think that you should try again. And again, and again until they sort this out for you. Waiting for the buyer to do something, especially when there is no pressure on them to actually do anything, will take weeks to resolve.1 -
Isn't this just the case that Ebay won't intervene until X days after the request has been raised? Once the buyer raises the request your funds are put on hold but you need to wait 5(?) days before you ask Ebay to intervene. Once that deadline is passed Ebay will look at the proof of delivery and decide the case in your favour but my understanding is that they won't look at anything until that timeframe has elapsed.
It won't take weeks to resolve and you don't need the buyer to do anything you just need to wait until Ebay are able to step in and resolve it on your behalf.1 -
This is ebay being inconsistent again, I phoned ebay again yesterday about my missing parcel (I am the buyer) and they confirmed that If I open an INR case I would definitely lose, that's 2 advisors in a row now that told me that as a buyer I cannot win an INR once seller has proof of delivery.
I can however potentially win an INR if I can get the written statement from RM stating they are aware this was not delivered and that they are at fault.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I don't think it's inconsistent - I've had this issue recently and was told that Ebay couldn't close the case until the date when they are allowed to intervene but that as soon as it ticked over they'd close the case in my favour.1

I would phone eBay again - different reps handle the situation in different ways. There seems to be no fixed procedure.0

Still waiting, spoke to someone this morning and they said it should be released tomorrow.0

They used to but going back 18 months or so they started with this 3 business day lark, probably to cut down on CS time which is a pain as if the buyer closes the case rather than CS I don't think you'd get the auto feedback removal that applies when you "win" by eBay closing the case.In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0
