Cancellation Charge on Home insurance

Hello all,
I have received a charge of £48.41 ( £39.50 admin fee) from Admiral for a policy that i have never actually received. I think i have been a bit naive/stupid on this one... I had Admiral last year for my home policy. I didnt get a renewal email or letter until after my policy date was due. My fault as i changed my email address & clearly didnt notify them. I did receive a letter stating that if i didnt get in touch my policy would be cancelled as i needed to update my payment card. Yes, my card was changed in November, as its a JL Card, so i had to..and no it didnt occur to me that come May i would need to contact Admiral. Like i said stupid! Therefore Admiral sent me a letter...which i admit i ignored as i had already got home ins from another provider. I then got another letter from them saying i needed to contact them..but as i had ins & i knew no payment could be made, i again ignored the letter...until now, as they clearly want money from me. Sorry for the long explanation.. but am i legally obliged to pay this charge? Its not a huge amount, and as i say i admit io have nbeen stupid, but prior to the letters, i didnt give it another thought to update my details to them. Thank you

1) You are legally obliged to pay it
2) You now need to inform your current insurers and all future insurers that you've had a policy cancelled for non-payment
The fact you changed your email address and didnt bother to inform them doesnt give you any form of get out of jail card.1 -
Thank you. Fair enough.0
