Nobody has had access to my phone, tablet or laptop. All at home and never leave my side. Non working environment. Cheers for the thought, though.
They don't need physical access to your devices to gain control of it unfortunately so the fact they have never been out of your sight is not relevant.  As simple click on a link or visiting a web site is enough.  I strongly suggest you take @Neil49 as it does appear that the person may have access to your computer which puts other accounts you have at risk
  • Nobody, absolutely nobody has had access to my laptop, pone or tablet. I am a disabled uk user and never leave my seat. Am currently awaiting total hip operation, amongst other medical matters, but I can guarantee nobody has gained access via my personal laptop/phone/tblet which are always by my side in my lounge. Only other person who lives is my wife, and she needs assistance to log onto her facebook account which was only set up so can videcall when in hospital, along with my 5 yr old Grandson, who also videocalls, to use filters.
Anyway, Again had quick chance of getting in to account as my daughter in law sent a memory. Pressed link in her email that she sent with facebook memory. I had chance of addding mobile phone no., and asked for code to be forwarded to phone, but 6 digit code that was sent, again as previously, was not accepted.
Why won't facebook accept these 6 digit codes that I used to receive via email, and last one this mornign at 1.30 am,, sent to my phone. If these 6 digit codes were accepted, I could change password but isn't working.
I have also again tried to send proof of id but I ambeing sent round in circles again...I get to:
'  I've lost access to my login details
What you need to do if you can't access the phone number or email on this account.
Tell us how we can reach you
    Set a new login email.
    Confirm that it's you
This stops anyone else from trying to log in.
    Look out for our message
We'll email you with one final step to get back on Facebook.' page and press link 'Start' which then takes me to:

    'Get back on Facebook...
    Confirm it's you...
Choose a method to show us that this account is really yours. We might ask you to complete more than one of these.'
But, there is no link to press...Arrghh...The is an arrow which only takes me back to the above 'I've lost access to my login details.
This page has previously allowed me to upload id but is not letting me do it.
Any, any, any help, advice at all?
(I do not see the benefit of hacker continually changing details back to his, and let me have my account back. For what purpose and to what end does he want my fb account for? There are no links to any financial details or anything of real personal value).

when it was suggested somebody has access to your laptop they did not mean physical access

they meant having some kind of malware running on your PC which means that the hacker can get access to your PC over the internet from wherever they are at any time (when the device is powered on and connected to internet)

It's scary how vulnerable our data online is. Just yesterday, I read about Trigona ransomware, which has been described as one of the most significant cybersecurity threats in recent times.
Trigona operates by encrypting files on a victim's system and demanding a ransom for their release. What's particularly alarming about Trigona is its sophistication - it not only encrypts files but also infiltrates backups and disables security measures, making it exceptionally difficult to recover data without paying the ransom. What world are we living in, huh?
