DCBL in Scotland - Notice of Intended Legal Action

Definitely do this.Old_Slobberchops said:hieveryone said:
Yes, it says 'County Court action may be taken.... a County Court Judgement against you'.The_Slithy_Tove said:What does this notice of intended legal action say? Does it talk about the County Court, which is an England & Wales only thing? Or does it correctly talk about the Sheriff Court? Be interesting to know how incompetent DCBL are being, here.
And just to be clear, are both of
a. Your address
b. The location of the parking event
in Scotland?
Both in Scotland yes.Report to Trading Standards Scotland. Scottish matters can't be heard in English courts. It's deliberate misrepresentation.
I'd also send a very sarky email to DCBLegal from the keeper, educating them that your home town is in Scotland and telling them you know they haven't a clue about Scottish litigation and to wind their sorry necks in, because they've been reported to Scottish Trading Standards and the SRA and the CSA to boot.
And do all three complaints, too. Google the acronyms and do the three complaints online in one afternoon.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It seems you are right regarding DCBL BEING INCOMPETENT ?The_Slithy_Tove said:What does this notice of intended legal action say? I think we can all see this firm is incompetent
Whether it's incompetence or knowingly misleading the OP, the SRA should investigate and take action against DCBL ... It is WONGA style trading4 -
Just a quick question for those advising to reply to DCBL - wouldn't this then give them either the name of the keeper and/or a method to contact them directly?
Thanks

Haven't they got that already, otherwise how have they been able to contact you?hieveryone said:Just a quick question for those advising to reply to DCBL - wouldn't this then give them either the name of the keeper and/or a method to contact them directly?
ThanksPlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Sorry yes you're right - what I meant was would that be admitting liability on who was driving the car or are there specific phrases that should be used to minimise liability? Also, I guess letters could be argued that were never received, whereas if I willingly make contact it opens the floodgates?
Thanks

Yes it would, but there is nothing wrong with that.hieveryone said:Just a quick question for those advising to reply to DCBL - wouldn't this then give them either the name of the keeper and/or a method to contact them directly?

They already know the name of the keeper.1 -

The 'Limited' arm of DCBL are just debt collectors. They have no power anywhere in the UK, so you should just ignore them - no letters, no emails, no phone calls. Come back if DCB Legal contact you, then it's the series of complaints as detailed above. But while it's 'Limited' who are contacting you - no action recommended or required.hieveryone said:

Why not just read the other Scotland thread right next to this one right now and send the rude reply designed to shut them up?
I'm not linking it directly of course - ALWAYS better for newbies to get confident hopping around to get back to page one from any thread - but it's the thread by @SconedPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
