DCBL in Scotland - Notice of Intended Legal Action

Hello all,

I received a parking charge last August and the letters then ramped. up to DCBL. I'm in Scotland and never acknowledged any of them.

Today I have received a 'notice of intended legal action'. My husband is getting very twitchy on what this means as it talks about court action etc.

We have never interacted with them or declared who the driver was etc.

Is ignoring the right course of action still?

Thank you

Tell your husband to keep his twitch under control. This will go nowhere. Your position to ignore is the one with which to go forward.
Ha this made me laugh - thank you! He's very law abiding whereas I am more hardy I guess but I need the back up.

Law abiding or not, there has been absolutely no law broken here, all you've had is a speculative invoice, unenforceable in Scotland where the name of the driver hasn't been revealed. And one-off tickets are totally unviable to pursue in Scotland, even if the driver's identity is known.

It's Scotland. The RK cannot be held liable and the PPC has no idea who the driver is. DCBL are just a bunch of intellectually challenged thugs who offer the PPC a free service to intimidate gullible victims into paying. However, they are not a party to the contract you have allegedly breached between you and the PPC.

Ignore and it will all go away and they will seek out someone more gullible to poop their pants and fund their scam.

What does this notice of intended legal action say? Does it talk about the County Court, which is an England & Wales only thing? Or does it correctly talk about the Sheriff Court? Be interesting to know how incompetent DCBL are being, here.

And just to be clear, are both of
    a. Your address
    b. The location of the parking event
    in Scotland?
Yes, it says 'County Court action may be taken.... a County Court Judgement against you'.

    Both in Scotland yes.

Complain to the SRA and the BPA - misrepresentation. Be feisty, give them some return crap to deal with.

Just checking  -  "Yes, it says 'County Court action may be taken.... a County Court Judgement against you'."

Is that how they really spelt "Judgment"?
