I’d always imagined those to be more for commercial, rather than domestic issue? No reason why not thoughfrugalmacdugal said:Hi,

My next door neighbour recently saved himself half a skip by rearranging the stuff randomly dumped into one by his builders. He's youngish (early 50s), very fit (🤭) and has a lot of time (recently retired RN). But worth bearing in mind as you fill one.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Competition Time, Site Feedback and Marriage, Relationships and Families boards. All the skip companies round here offer an 'office' price or a 'cash to driver' price. Which one you choose is up to you.

also if the skip is on the road you will need a permit from the council - the skip company will probably get this for you - but make sure they don't overcharge1

Which one you choose is up to you....although the choice should be made taking into account that without a waste transfer note you risk a FPN or being prosecuted if your waste ends up being flytipped in a country lane or someone's field, or if the lorry is stopped before it gets to wherever it is going. And without the correct paperwork the waste is quite likely to be flytipped, because the skip company cannot transfer it on to a legitimate disposal/recycling organisation without a WTN to identify where it has come from.1

When filling your skip it is a good policy to put compactable material in first followed by heavier, this will give you more room.Play with the expectation of winning not the fear of failure. S.Clarke0
